Vandal edits in article "Official"[edit]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Official. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Administrators have the ability to block users from editing if they repeatedly engage in vandalism. to Reply to Mamyles who has falsely accused me of vandalism on the page Official. Mamyles may not like the facts surrounding the media and how they deceive their audience but that's his/her opinion.

Whether or not that was vandalism is debatable, but you shouldn't use Wikipedia as a soapbox. What you added to that article was your opinion, not anything based on reliable sources, and it was hardly neutral. Huon (talk) 06:42, 15 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately claims of such low quality of modern press are tricky to support in an encyclopedia and require thorough research into existing literature; you may be interested in participating in Wikinews, a sister project focusing on publishing neutral, entertaining news without bias (this is done through volunteer-driven writing and reviewing). (For the specific point you were trying to make, a search on "government official usage" or similar at scholar.google.com could be useful, but I didn't find anything. The term is broad, and blaming modern press for being vague in an encyclopedia would require evidence collected as a result of thorough linguistic and fact-check work to support the claim.) Huon better described what I was trying to bring attention to. I recognize that you did not intend to cause disruption, so vandalism is not the best descriptor. My apologies for the over-reaction.
