La Calòrica is a theatre company founded in 2010 by graduates at the Institut del Teatre of Barcelona. Three members (Joan Yago, Esther López Martín and Júlia Truyol) are ofMallorcan origin while Xavi Francés comes from the Valencian country and the rest are from Catalonia. MEMBERS: Joan Yago, dramatist Israel Solà, director Albert Pascual, set designer Xavi Francés, actor Aitor Galisteo-Rocher, actor Esther López Martín, actress Marc Rius, actor Júlia Truyol, actress. SHOWS: - Feísima enfermedad y muy triste muerte de la reina Isabel I ( Ugly disease and very sad death of Queen Isabel I) (2010-2011): The company unveiled this work, written in Spanish, portraying the ridiculousness of the brevity of life, and the thirst for power and the certainty of death, set in the Court of the Catholic Kings. A show that received brilliant reviews, season in the Versus Teatre and which toured several Catalan and Spanish cities. For this set of six characters they had the addition of Carla Rovira and Mercè Boher alternating in the cast.

- Ekstraordinarnyy (2012-2013): This 15-minute work premiered in the framework of the Aixopluc project. "Tres d' un glop" (December, 2012) at the Teatre Lliure in Barcelona and later for the cycle "Dijous Exquisits" of Les Filles Follen, (May 2013) a cycle with format supper-play with the participation of the prestigious cook Ada Parellada. The work, done in an alternative version of Russian language, tells the story of a humble Ukrainian family who unexpectedly finds a gateway to world fame thanks to their daughter. - La Nau dels Bojos (Ship of fools) (2013): Premiered in the Pina Bausch room of the Mercat de les Flors in Barcelona 18th, 19th and 20th July 2013. The more ambitious play of the company so far, with a set of large format and based on the famous painting of the same title by the Flemish painter Hyeronimus Bosch, narrates the journey by the river Rhine of five characters lost in search of a promised land. An allegory about the loss of values and hopes of society. It will be the first play brought to the stage by the company which is a text not written by their playwright Joan Yago.
