Etomba

[edit]

Etomba is a small village found in Ohangwena region. It is 25km from Ondobe and 37km away from Eenhana. It is a place with alot people. The surrounding villages also have alot of people, but not as highly populated as Etomba. There are 3 places known as Etomba. They are differentiated by the different names that they are given. 1.Etomba laNghifesho (which I am going to talk about) and 2 others. The one I am going to talk about is the well-known one in the North. There is only one school. Etomba combined School. It has from grade 1 to 10. The only time that children leave their parents, especially those who go to school, is when they are going to high schools. Mostly they go to Haimbili Haufiku SSS, which is in Eenhana and sometimes they go to Mwadikange Kaulinge SSS in Ondobe.

This village consists of 11 houses, of which the minority of people living in each house is 9. This is why I am saying this village is highly population. It doesnt have a clinic yet, but they are in process of building one. However, when people are sick they go to a traditional healer in the village. she is respected because of the good things that she has done for most of the people.

When it comes to water, people there are not really suffering. They are provided with with water, taps in the houses. All they have to do is just go to the tap and get water. There are also undergound water that people there use for animals consumption.

There is a church that everyone goes to. It is a walking distance from most of the house, but really far for some of the people. It is not well built and it is really small for everyone in the village to fit in. The chairs inside are broken and not comfortable anymore. There are primary resources that they can use to replace the chairs. Examples of the primary resources are trees. They can cut down trees to make chairs, but they dont want to ruin/interrupt the ecology of different animals found there. After all, trees are also protected.

This is a village that really need help from anyone who can help out. Every simple contribution that can be offered, will be very much appreciated. This village does not have many resources, but it is understandable, afterall it is a village.
