I just realized what you meant, I was confused for a second, I was in the process of editing when you made the change - CanadianCon2020 (talk) 21:38, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You mentioned asking in the talk page, do you mean the talk page for the leadership race? - — Preceding unsigned comment added by CanadianCon2020 (talkcontribs)

Hi, thanks for your question, yes at Talk:2020 Conservative Party of Canada leadership election. Your edits have been reverted, so as per WP:BRD you need to gain WP:CONSENSUS there to include them. - Ahunt (talk) 21:48, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Can you help me and the other guy parse stuff down when I post the original suggested edits in the talk section? - CanadianCon2020 (talk) 21:54, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There are lots of editors watching that page, so I think you will have quite a bit of help there. - Ahunt (talk) 22:16, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good man, thanks for your help! - CanadianCon2020 (talk) 22:33, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

2020 Conservative Party Leadership Race edits[edit]

Thank you for your edits and contributions. One thing I need to remind you is, you should not be adding people into the endorsements list if they are failed candidates in elections (federal, provincial, municipal) and if the people/person you add does not have a wiki page, it is not notable. Ahunt has made that clear in the 2020 Conservative Party Leadership Race Talk page and in the description in the edit history. Youhunt (talk) 21:06, 14 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You’re right, I should’ve added it to the talk page, I added in the note for the addition that if it should be taken out that I was fine with that

October 2021[edit]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Longhair\talk 04:13, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I don't work for them, my political identification does not bias my edits nor have I been instructed to make an edit on any occasion, my future edits will be fixing minor errors as I see them and contributions regarding politics/sports. Next time before blocking please remember WP:AFG

With the username changed and your statements on this page, I will remove the block. 331dot (talk) 20:06, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think Longhair didn't assume good faith, but I can see why they might have done what they did. I don't think they would have done any differently if your name were "CanadianLib2020". Longhair, since "C"onservative would indicate a party affiliation and "c"onservative would indicate an ideology, I'm wondering if making the "Con" lower case would be satisfactory. 331dot (talk) 08:32, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

My decision to block wasn't a political decision. I checked your edits and the majority of them were to articles concerning conservative politicians and related topics which led me to believe you were representative of the party, and your first edits being to the article 2020 Conservative Party of Canada leadership election which also closely aligns with your username. The suggestion of @331dot: seems reasonable. -- Longhair\talk 19:33, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I can make that change to your username, with your agreement. Other than being perhaps a supporter, are you affiliated with the Conservative Party of Canada organization? 331dot (talk) 19:37, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yep the username change is fine. I'm not affiliated with them, I am a supporter but I do my best ensure it doesn't influence my edits. -CanadianCon2020 (talk) 19:42, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Longhair, if this user is not affiliated with the party apparatus, do you object to an unblock? 331dot (talk) 19:56, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@331dot: No objections. -- Longhair\talk 19:57, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Messed up ref on Robert Batherson[edit]

Reference 12 is <ref>{{Cite web|last=March 23|first=Matt Semansky|last2=2010|title=Colour names Keevill top shareholder and CEO|url=http://marketingmag.ca/advertising/colour-names-keevill-top-shareholder-and-ceo-1852|access-date=2021-12-20|language=en-US}}</ref>

I'm not sure what you were trying to do with last=March 23 and last2=2010, but that's not how it should look. You may have mis-entered something into an automated script. Please take a look.

Also, I've gone ahead and linked the other mentions of Mr. Batherson that my tool could find: 45th Canadian federal election and Scott Lamb (lawyer).Naraht (talk) 14:13, 21 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I’ll look at the references, thank you for letting me know. Thank you for the links you added. He was also in the info box for the Conservative Party of Canada so I linked it there too. Thanks again for the help Naraht! -Canadiancon2020 (talk) 15:19, 21 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
