Your comments at Talk:Boom and bust[edit]

Please do not attack other editors, as you did to Talk:Boom and bust#What a load of bullshot. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. BigNate37(T) 21:05, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The comment was related to content. The content is complete crap. I am not familiar with what code wikipedia has for ensuring that content is encyclopaedic, but I feel confident that the particular content violates all of them. In particular, the quote "This article is about periods of rapid credit growth ".. Especially before 1971 when credit played a less significant role. Booms could be a result of velocity of money increase for example. In any case, there is no point discussing it, the author is obviously completely fucking clueless.

Further, I'd say that most of the articles and information on wikipedia are of this quality. I think wikipedia is fundamentally harmful to the Web, as it attempts to centralise knowledge. I would much prefer to use a spectrum of advanced search engines to navigate through myriad pages hosted on various self hosted servers that belong to individuals and individual experts. Unfortunately, as with all systems, the tendency is to centralisation, and wikipedia is one manifestation of that phenomenon (albeit of a low quality)

Well you are welcome to your opinions. Please notice that I did not remove your entire comment, only the personal attack. I left your comments that pertained to the article itself, because while they were not made with the most civil of tones, they were not personal attacks and Wikipedia is not censored. Either way, now that you're aware of the situation, you don't have to agree with me, and you don't even have to keep my comments on your talk page if you don't want to—you're welcome to remove them once you've read them if you like.
