Age approximate[edit]

Am I right that this age XX is calculated by the year of death minus the year of birth in a template? That would mean that the actual age of death (in terms of completed years) could be XX-1 or XX Dsp13 (talk) 13:34, 11 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No. It is a precise calculation carried out by {{Death date and age}}, which is one of the stable of age calculation templates at Wikipedia:Age calculation templates. The introduction of invisible redlinks of the form interrogated here by my "whatlinkshere" links was done here. That should be enough explanation here. I'm also writing an explanation at User talk:Ryoung122, and will ask User:CBDunkerson (who made the initial change) whether the other age templates can be changed in a similar fashion.
