Hi Carla, Welcome to Wikipedia!

I saw your question at the AfC Help desk. There's quite a big backlog there and it may take a while for an actual review, but they'll at least be able to ensure that the article is submitted for review properly. The subject is clearly notable enough for a Wikipedia article, but I suggest you include more references to independent sources rather than press releases, blogs, etc. The LA Times article is an excellent start, but you need more like that from major newspapers, books, etc., e.g. this one, one, and this one. Keep working on your draft. It's still a little rough around the edges, but that can be fixed, both now at the draft stage, and later when it goes into article space.

Wikipedia takes a lot of getting used to. So don't get discouraged. Take a look at my first article (I made it back in 2006) Oh Dear!. It looks a lot better now [1] . I'd also recommend checking out Wikipedia:Teahouse. There are lots of really friendly editors there who can give advice to new editors still finding their way around Wikipedia. Update. It was relatively easy to add sufficient references, and to copyedit it to comply more with our Manual of Style for biographies. I've gone ahead and done that and moved the draft into article space. You'll find it at Glenn Kaino, where you can other editors can work on improving it. It especially needs work on the tone of the descriptions of his work, which are quite essay-like, and lack inline citations for some of the assertions.
