Hi Caroline,

Your additions are very strong and help to fully develop this wikepedia article. The only thing I noticed is that most of your information comes from just one source. Can you find any other sources to diversify where you are getting your information from? Also I found this sentence that needs to be changed: "The early drama that emerged was very similar to that of the drama present in Greece because through the Romans contact and connections with the Greeks they developed an interest in this new form of expression" Instead break it up into two sentences: Early drama that emerged was very similar to the drama in Greece. This was due to extensive contact between the Romans and the Greeks, which allowed the Romans to develop an interest in a new form of expression. Other than that, it looked very good. The article on the culture in Ancient Rome included many different areas of culture that was present in Rome, but did not have very many sources and lacked quite a few citations. The philosophy section is particularly problematic because their is a flag that no sources are cited. After reviewing the talk page for the article, so reviewers noted some stylistic issues that indicated the article was choppy and some sections provided significantly more information than other sections. For instance, the section on education lacks a lot of information and definitely could be expanded upon. In addition, the visual arts section could be expanded as well. The article definitely needs to be edited to provide additional information through reliable sources in conjunction with a tailoring of the information already provided. Caroline, I really like the changes you have made to the Wikipedia article on Theatre of Ancient Rome. This is an interesting topic and I think the additions you’ve made will improve the article. I think it is good that you are editing sections of this article rather than writing a new one; I think this topic is specific but with limited information, that being said I think that by you adding the article will be even more specific. I like that you copied the sections from the article into your sandbox and then indicated what you want to add, this provides a good level of organization. Your use of outside sources is good and provides further information. For example, in the “Origins of Roman Theatre” section you references Manuwald and by doing that you add much more detail to that section. For the most part the edits that you make come at the beginning, are there any edits you would like to make to the end? Or are you trying to make the beginning as specific as possible, which is also fine? Lastly, did you find anything in the article that you would like to remove? While I was drafting my article, I found sections that did not necessarily need to be in the article and in removing them I believe readers will have an easier time learning the information. Really good job with your draft! Carolinefreeman (talk) 12:37, 21 April 2017 (UTC)carolinefreeman[reply]
