Hi[edit]

I'm not sure what's going on, but a user with an IP address can't block anyone. Only admins can do that. They can delete inappropriate content as can any user. As to the forthcoming tour, you've probably worked out by now that Wikipedia is not for promotion. If you want to put up an informative article, fine - but... It must comply with WP:GNG, and WP:NPOV (amongst others...). (You must show notability, amd use a neutral - not enthusiastic - point of view. And you must use the third person - no 'we' or 'I'.) Set it up first on a subpage - on your userpage type in the new link user:CasaKenwood/whatever you want for its name, and save the page you're on. Then click the red link thar should be there. This creates the new page. FIND REFERENCES that aren't from blogs etc before you get going. If you get lost with the thing (not the references - they're your job) contact me. I'm here most days for some of the time. Peridon (talk) 19:37, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just looked at the Faronwest userpage - blocked as a suspected sockpuppet. If you're not that, you'll have to convince the investigating admins. Peridon (talk) 19:40, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Peridon. I'll be much more careful.

Keep up the good work. Peace.

A tag has been placed on Andrew shapter requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. --moreno oso (talk) 23:06, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please read above Talk notes.. We are following instructions carefully. PLEASE DO NOT DELETE!!!!

June 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. A page you recently created, Andrew shapter, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new pages, so it will shortly be removed (if it hasn't been already). Please use the sandbox for any tests, and consider using the Article Wizard. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read Your first article. You may also want to read our introduction page to learn more about contributing. Thank you. Please see WP:SOCK. Where did you get this info from? --moreno oso (talk) 23:12, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. You may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guideline to avoid editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. The article in question is User_talk:Tim_Song#Harmless_mistake._Very_sorry. Thank you. If you are here to promote some and represent them, you have a WP:COI. --moreno oso (talk) 23:16, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Morenooso, I understand these points above and again, I respect your stance. Please scroll to the top of the page and note that we are only following instructions. If you need our original note to the administrator, I'll be happy to send it to you. Thank you Morenooso.

Someone already posted Andrew Shapter so all of this may bu mute. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Shapter

Mhmh, that would be me. Just felt it may good for you to have an uninvolved third party come in a write the article. Hopefully the article is okay with you, and with others. Please let me know if otherwise. Regards, SpitfireTally-ho! 00:01, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Andrew Shapter (director)[edit]

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Andrew Shapter (director). First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as yourself. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Andrew Shapter. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Andrew Shapter - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Technopat (talk) 00:37, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, CasaKenwood, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. -- Cirt (talk) 19:04, 10 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
