I want to become a student

I would like to be a counter vandalism unit trainee

I am currently located in Asia, I've noticed that your timezone is AEST so our time zones sorta matches.

I have over 200 mainspace edits (xtools) and is extended confirmed.

@TigerScientist and EpicPupper: Thank you EpicPupper for explaining the situation. Hi TigerScientist, I wasnt ignore you but I was travelling for last 5 days and I just got home. Thank you for interested in WP:CVUA. I saw you have done a few WP:TWA missions, and please finish all the mission of TWA so you may understand the fundamental Wikipedia guidance prior starting the CVUA program. Please note the CUVA program do require a lot of reading and working on assignment, so you need to prepare to spend time on the said tasks. Once you have completed the TWA program and pop back here if you still want to join the CUVA program but do note that I will be busy with packing and travelling for the coming days for I am moving back to Sydney. @TigerScientist: I have a look at your history page on your user page and I dont understand you are you trying to tell me above. All you have to do is go go WP:TWA and start doing the all the mission (I know you did some before, but please redo them "all" this time). It will take about 90 -120 mins of your time. TigerScientist, have set up the program for you and pls read the links (reading material) and the communication section at the bottom of the assignment before you start answering the questions. Also, since you have created another user account, I would STRONGLY suggest you to just use one account, your old account "TigerScientist", if you happen to use both account and if you use them either intentionally or unintentionally which violate 3RR, use it as WP:SOCK edits in nature, you WILL BE BLOCKED INDEFENATELY. CVUA

Hi Cassiopeia. I was recommended to sign up for the CVUA and we apparently share the same timezone! I have sporadically edited Wikipedia under an IP. I picked up the Tinkle and Redwarn after making an account and I just kinda dived right in after reading a whole bunch. However, I'm not super confident and I think I'd benefit from some guidance. Abillionradios, Good day. Pls note that the CUVA program do required a lot of your time to read Wikipedia guidelines (reading material) and working on assignments. Many participants were informed of the above; and yet they do not anticipate the amount of time and work needed to complete the program, resulting of quitting of the program. So if you still want to participate the program, pls make sure you would have time as well as the determination to complete it. At the meantime, pls complete the WP:TWA program (about 120 mins) so you would familiar with some basic Wikipedia guidelines. Pop back here when you have finish the TWA program. Stay safe and best. Potential future issue

Hey, so the new season of Contender's Series is gonna happen this year, but I see a potential issue happening in the future. I don't see Contender Series ending anytime soon and the page is just gonna keep on going on and on, until one of the admins says that we will have to make it smaller. If we do it now, we can avoid the trouble of having to do even more work redoing all the links on the fighter's pages in the future.

Likewise, I just have some pages that I hope you can review.

Tofiq Musayev

Tofiq is the RIZIN Lightweight Champion and has fought 4 times in RIZIN (top tier promotion). He defeated 4 other notable fighters and the UFC made an offer to sign him. Darbaki good day. Thank you for the message above. Rizin has never been a top tier promotion under Wikipdedia WP:MMATIER guidelines. Secondly, I have yet to find any independent, reliable English source stated the subject has been signed by UFC. Even if he is signed by UFC (by other languages sources), the subject needs to have at least 3 fights under tier one promoter or has been ranked world to ten to be warrant a page in Wikipedia.     • Call to participation in interview study to building a recommender system that can help improve the editing experience in Wikidata: Researchers at King's College London develop a personalized recommendation system to suggest Wikidata items for the editors based on their interests and preferences. The researchers are inviting volunteers to interview them about their current ways to choose the items you work on in order to understand the factors that might influence such a decision.
    • dewiki considered, but rejected the introduction of local short descriptions to replace those from Wikidata
    • User:Nikki/LexemeEntitySuggester.js was improved to now
      • automatically suggests the existing senses/forms when using demonstrates sense/form
      • automatically suggests items (based on the lemma matching the label or an alias) when using item for this sense
      • and searches for lemmas exactly matching the input when using synonym, antonym, hyperonym or pertainym
  • Development
    • Italian Wikiversity used Lua on their Recent Changes SpecialPage via overwriting a MediaWiki message. Our code used to not expect that, now it does. (phab:T283240)
    • Updating the panel that tracks Wikidata edits over time in different namespaces to include all namespaces (phab:T281356)
    • Working on adding a new constraints type for Lexemes (phab:T200689)
    • Working on designs for improving Special:NewLexeme
    • Working on designs for the system to find mismatches between Wikidata's data and other databases
    • Fixing some malformed globe-coordinate precisions in the database (phab:T283576)

Frist of all, I would like to advise you not to disclose you personal info on Wikipedia as once it is posted, it will always remain in Wikipedia which might compromise your privacy info. Secondly, Wikipedia is a site where articles are mostly created by volunteers and paid editors are strongly discourage. Thirdly, pls read Help:Your first article on how to write an article and Help:Referencing for beginners on how to provide inline citations (sources) to support the content claimed.     • You can now add a title to a query visualisation by adding #title:YourTitle to your SPARQL code (phab:T225883, example query with a title)
    • Added a new constraints type to indicate that a certain Property should only be used on Lexemes of a certain language (phab:T200689)
    • Working on not checking the format constraints via SPARQL to take that load off the SPARQL endpoint and make it technically better (phab:T176312)
    • Working on making the API-Sandbox not suggest edits to real Items (phab:T219215)

Changes later this week

Future changes

  • The Wikimedia movement uses Phabricator for technical tasks. This is where we collect technical suggestions, bugs and what developers are working on. The company behind Phabricator will stop working on it. This will not change anything for the Wikimedia movement now. It could lead to changes in the future. [3][4][5]
  • Searching on Wikipedia will find more results in some languages. This is mainly true for when those who search do not use the correct diacritics because they are not seen as necessary in that language. For example searching for Bedusz doesn't find Będusz on German Wikipedia. The character ę isn't used in German so many would write e instead. This will work better in the future in some languages.   • Advanced item The CSRF token parameters in the action API were changed in 2014. The old parameters from before 2014 will stop working soon. This can affect bots, gadgets and user scripts that still use the old parameters. [7][8]

    • Wikidata Community/Diversity 2021 Survey has been published. The results are meant to serve as a baseline to see how the community might (not) change in the future.
    • WikidataCon 2021: A sustainable future for Wikidata. Information about "the conference theme, its three-day program structure and a special project on diversity taking place before the conference itself".
    • The call for candidates for 2021 Wikimedia Foundation Board elections has begun on June 9. The last date to apply is June 29, 2021.
  • Development
    • Working on no longer using the Query Service to evaluate Constraints Checks regular expressions (this should make our checks faster and allow for further improvements) (phab:T176312)
    • Changing the rate limits for assigning Item IDs further, which should result in even fewer Q-IDs being skipped in the future (phab:T284538)
    • Finalizing the concepts for a tool to help work on mismatches between Wikidata's data and other databases/websites/...
