SPI[edit]

@Cassiopeia:, I opened a WP:SPI here. Later while checking on the other sock account User:Painting1 of this master account, I noticed that it got blocked as a result of a report filed by another user at the WP:AN/3RR here. So should the SPI that I filed become void and be closed? --Ashleyyoursmile! 18:41, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ashleyyoursmile, Your SPI report could be remained. However, instead of just showing the[ https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Baklava&action=history Balkava history page], you should need to provide hist diff that prove the two editor are the same editor such as provide the same type of edits (or content) on the SPI page. Let me know if you have further question. stay safe. Cassiopeia(talk) 04:56, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Cassiopeia: I have provided hist diff for both accounts on the SPI page. Thank you for the advice. --Ashleyyoursmile! 07:07, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Siege of Olomouc[edit]

@Cassiopeia:, if you check the page history of Siege of Olomouc [1], a user has been supposedly using two separate accounts: Johnvan123 and Johnson05678, to add some content to the page [2] and [3], albeit reverted by first GELongstreet and then me. GELongstreet opened an WP:SPI [4] on December 18. Today the user reverted my last edit on the page with a different account [5]. The new account Ashleyyoursmile2 has a username which evidently impersonates my username and is pretending to be me. Should I report this to the WP:UAA or WP:ANI? Can you advice what should be done in this context? Thank you. Ashleyyoursmile! 15:47, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ashleyyoursmile The editor has been reported - see here. This is a WP:SOCK case and at time some WP:MEATPUPUT would join in as well. We will cover sock and UAA in later chapter (UAA more in detail then sock but sock need more and concrete evidence to report them with all the hist diffs included). WP:ANI is for cases which usually the editor could not settle the isseus via talk pages then it can raise the issues in ANI. However, my advice is that ANI is the last resort of venue one should go to as it is a very emotional charge environment, unless it is absolutely necessary, do not bring it to in ANI but with discussion/communication to reach an understanding. We as the counter vandalism editors do receive many unpleasant messages from toll to physical harm to want to bring us to court, that is usually is a form of the editor anger or wanted to seek attention (there is a assignment on how to respond with troll). We always need to remind yourself to be clam and take a break before reply/stopping doing the counter vandalism work for a day or two. The more we practice to be clam and patient, the easier it becomes. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 05:32, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Cassiopeia: Thank you so much, when I asked you for advice yesterday the other accounts hadn't been tagged. I saw the SPI page just now to find another new account trying to impersonate User GELongstreet, which they have already reported. --Ashleyyoursmile! 06:02, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

CSD[edit]

@Cassiopeia: After tagging a page for speedy deletion, I often find the creator change the content of the page and remove the CSD template. Are they allowed to do that? --Ashleyyoursmile! 11:23, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ashleyyoursmile Good day. Whenever you raise a question and if applicable, always provide hist diff and article page name, so I may able to understand the issue on hand. There are many CSDs and I dont encounter some of them. (note:Do provide hist diff if you could find them). For most of the CSD from G1 to G13, editors are allowed edit edit/remove/add content to improve the issues/content while the tag is on the article "once they have improve content (only if the have solve the issues mention on the tag) the editor is allowed to remove the tag; however, the CSD tag can not be removed by the creator of the page. If the creator do not agree with the CSD nomination, they could open a discussion on the article/draft article talk page to state their reasons with the support of Wikipedia guidelines. Admin will always check the talk page and the content of the page against the CSD tag/issue prior taken any action. If the creator remove the CSD, a warning message can be placed on their talk page - pls see "second from the bottom" of "Multi-level templates" section on Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace. Thank you. Cassiopeia(talk) 11:52, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Cassiopeia: thank you for the reply, apologies for not providing the diffs. I was referring to Ladyrow, where I have placed a CSD G11 template a while ago [6]. The editor changed the content and removed the tag twice: [7] I have replaced it and warned the user twice on their talk page [8] and [9]. Update- Looks like the page has been deleted and the user blocked indef. --Ashleyyoursmile! 12:00, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ashleyyoursmile Thanks for the hist diffs. I added additional info on my previous message - see bold texts - which I missed out. Kindly read. Let me know if you have further questions. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk)
@Cassiopeia: Noted, thank you so much. Ashleyyoursmile! 04:05, 11 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

G1 or G2[edit]

@Cassiopeia: does a blank draft call for a speedy G1 or G2? I have come across pages (apologies, the pages have been deleted so I cannot provide examples) which are completely blank excepting maybe a section header like References but nothing inside. Or the draft only contained the title of the page written in text and nothing else. Ashleyyoursmile! 05:29, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ashleyyoursmile can you provide the draft article name pls or hist diff? Cassiopeia(talk) 05:38, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Cassiopeia: yes, I found two entries in my CSD deletion log: Draft:Gopi bolina and Draft:Ameer Sons Knitwear. I had tagged both under speedy G1 ::[10] and [11]. --Ashleyyoursmile! 05:47, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Cassiopeia: G1 would apply. Cassiopeia(talk) 06:07, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Cassiopeia: Noted! Thank you. --Ashleyyoursmile! 06:32, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Singles 2nd Ward[edit]

@Cassiopeia: I came across this page, which had been previously deleted via a deletion discussion: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Singles 2nd Ward dated September 14, 2020. The page was recreated today and has been tagged for an AfD: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Singles 2nd Ward (2nd nomination). My question is isn't speedy WP:G4 applicable here? --Ashleyyoursmile! 09:08, 25 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ashleyyoursmile The 1st deletion was in 22 September 2020, and the subject/article was recreated on January 25, 2021‎. G4 usually apply to article create immediate after the deletion and the content need to be identical or "extremely" closed to identical. I could not see the content of the 1st copy as it was deleted and the 2nd copy was created 3 months after the initial copy, thus it G4 "might not apply" since I could not see the content of the first copy. The The Singles Ward which one of the voter suggest to merge to as they clamed it is The Singles 2nd Wardis the sequel of the movie. To me as at the present content and sources provided in The Singles Ward, the article fails GNG and NFILM. CUVA program does include CSD topics but only in brief. However, NPPS (new page school for reviewer) program is a comprehensive and in details and cover N, RS/IS, AfD, CSD, tagging, NPOV, Wikipedia policies and many more and if you interested, to participate after your CUVA program. Let me know if you have further questions. Take care and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 23:43, 25 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Cassiopeia: Noted! Thank you for the explanation. --Ashleyyoursmile! 04:06, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
