but...why?!

[edit]

Hello! I'm just wondering why you refer to Medicaid as socialist-medicine, and why you are against it? Being a Canadian, I was just wondering. Nice user page, by the way! Mine is way boring...but I am still a wiki-noob so there is hope yet! The decoy 16:40, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Liahona

[edit]

I've been reading this Russian's talk page and he says that in his religion, a moral compass is like a device called the Liahona. I saw that you were Mormon, so I thought I would ask. Is the Russian right? Here's a link to his talk page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Kaspersky_Trust

It's at the very bottom.

Weber High School

[edit]

Wasn't sure if I talked to you...I created the Weber High School Article. I actually graduated from Ben Lomond High School, but I wanted to expand the Utah Schools Article, with indiviual school articles. Thanks for your contributions. --Trickse 22:01, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yellowcard

[edit]

Hi Cathryn, thanks for your message, but I've only made vandalism reversions to that page and I don't think I have enough knowledge of Yellowcard to add to the article. Anyway, good luck with it! Cheers, Tangotango 10:07, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I pretty much fall under the same category as this gentleman/woman above me. My "contribution" was only to fix a glaring grammatical error (it's a personal pet peeve of mine). I'll help in any way I can though! --NPswimdude500 01:43, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I take it back. I just put together a Yellowcard album chronology that complies with the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Albums guidelines. Granted, it's not part of the actual Yellowcard article (nor is it fully completed), but all the same, thought you might like to know it's there...--NPswimdude500 22:51, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Userboxen?

[edit]

I don't think anything was done in direct response to the rampant deletion (except for maybe a few RfAr's in the most egregious cases, and a lot of angry shouting). Instead, most people got sick and tired of the endless fighting. A few polls were held (WP:MUPP most recently), but they all failed. So now we have the German solution, which is basically a workaround: userboxes are moved into individuals' userspaces, and all links are changed. This is currently being implemented; here's an example from your own userpage.

As for your missing boxes, many of them are probably recreated in userspace. If you can't find one, ask a friendly admin to give you the source code of a deleted box, and you can recreate it in your own userspace. Keep in mind, userboxes must conform to WP:USER.

I suppose this is a conclusion of sorts. The anti-userbox abusive admins "won," I guess. But it doesn't matter much to me anymore, since I'm basically on "Userbox Wikibreak." I've concluded that this whole issue is a big waste of time.

Good luck getting your boxes back. See you around, Λυδαcιτγ 17:02, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

FP Campaining?

[edit]

Hi, I was just looking on a couple of user pages and noticed you've added at least a handful of messages asking people to vote for the Diamond Head Crater pic. I wonder if you believe this is acceptable behavior on wikipedia. I think it creates an unhealthy bias and should be avoided. Perhaps I should campain against you to even the odds (just kidding I havnt got that much time)? -Aled D 21:47, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oh! I'm sorry. I didn't think about bias...I just thought that people wouldn't know about it being posted without someone saying so, and I wanted opinions on it from people who know the area (be they nice opinions or not). I didn't mean to be unfair; I just thought I was expanding the jury pool. Sorry!  :( In any case, it doesn't look like it's up to FP muster anyway. Thanks for the heads-up! Cathryn 05:45, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciated your heads-up posting! Having hiked this trail, your photo triggerered an ancient Hawaiian legned (Eco-History Trail-n-Tale) about a giant bird that often vistied here before the Polynesian Mariners arrived to sharpen it beak. According to this legend, that's how Diamond Head got its rough edges!

English/Scottish/Welsh/Swedish

[edit]

Hi Cathryn, just a disclaimer that this message contains no content at all related to any article! I noticed on your userboxes that you have the same ancestory mix as me so I just thought I'd say hello to a fellow English/Scottish/Welsh/Swedish wikipedian, and here I was thinking I was the only one with that combination! Mitt Romney

[edit]

I saw that you have edited this page:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitt_Romney

This page is the #2 site that comes up when doing a "Mitt Romney" google. In my opinion, it is better than any other Mitt Romney article. However, it is not very comprehensive. I'm trying to make something more like a Mitt Romney book, instead of a Mitt Romney Article. The website is here:

http://myclob.pbwiki.com/

I examine many additional topics, but I want more perspectives than just my own. I would like you to help contribute, if you would like. Just e-mail me at: mike.laub@gmail.com, and I will give you the password!

Until we get more people working on it, I would like to keep the password a secret. I do not have enough time to correct graffiti.

hello Cathryn theBlackbay here 1984 is upon us! :)

Help From fellow Wikipedians against censorship!

Thank you for your time I was wondering if i could ask your opinion?? :)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/G. Edward Griffin here is the Article on G. Edward Griffin that I have just reconstructed and am still in the process of doing, But it's been put up for deletion?.

I was wondering if you could pitch in a comment in any direction you feel but I believe this man is very notable having Authored such books as The Creature from Jekyll Island a history of the Federal Reserve Act of 1913, but also many many more films as well, also being a member of many organisations.

Me being an inclusionist of sorts I would rather see changes made rather than a wholesale deletion, what do you think?

The man is very notable he has been doing this sort of work since the 60’s when he created the “The Capitalist Conspiracy” one of the first and most documented histories of Political Corruption in film that I know of.

Thank you for all your help, I’m just starting out in Wikipedia I have created the Benjamin H. Freedman, article and reconstructed the The Money Masters article and some others but I need help here! Any help of mine you may need or want in any regard in the future just ask :)

Also any contribution you would like to make to improve the article please consider!

Deaf-mute

[edit]

Hi Cathryn. I'm seeking opinions and possible support for an issue in which I'm in a debate with other Wikipedians. I'm trying to change indiscrimant use of the term "deaf-mute" in describing deaf people in general. To see some comments related to the issue, see Talk:The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter, as well as my own Talk page, User talk:Ward3001. You can also follow the links to other discussions. Right now I'm about the only person addressing the issue because deaf people are such a small minority. Other Wikipedians, with apparently no prior knowledge of the issue, are reverting my edits. If you're interesting in expressing your opinion, feel free to do so. If you wish to discuss further please leave me a message on my Talk page. Thanks. Ward3001 17:43, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Weber warrior.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Weber warrior.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 11:56, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article BYU Creamery has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:ORGCRIT. No independent secondary sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
