Hi Charles, I have just re edited paragraph 1 of my wiki. Can you review it and let me know if I am on the right track or if more needs to be done to this. I have also edited the text for this section. Looking forward to hearing from you.

ciao

Hi Cathy
You can submit your article just by adding {{subst:submit}} to the top of the page.--Charles (talk) 07:56, 28 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again Cathy. New stuff goes at the bottom on talk pages (except the teahouse where we expect new editors to look at the top first).
The first section is looking quite wikified now. Biographies normally start with a date and place of birth and a bit about early years and education. The subject will be referred to by their surname rather than given name e.g. Brown not Geoffrey. Lead sections do not have to be referenced because they are a synopsis of the main body of the article which should all be referenced. The lead should not contain anything which is not in the body of the article.
It will help if you can find newspaper or magazine articles about Brown to establish the notability of the subject. I know nothing about the film industry but I assume there are industy magazines that can be used as reliable sources. If you have not seen it yet there is a brackets icon in the toolbar at the top of the edit window which gives you citation templates to fill in. Good luck and let me know if I can help further.--Charles (talk) 09:46, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Charles,

I feel rescued - thank you for picking me up. I feel like a bit of a Wikipedia refugee at the moment. I have finished my first article - in sandbox and would love some feedback. Not sure if I have used the references correctly. And also where to go from here. Not even sure if I am using "Talk" correctly - please forgive my wikiilliteracy. Love to get you feedback.

ciao

Hi Charles,

I have just finished another edit on my page. And would love some feedback. Some things I would like to know??? 1. I can upload al the referenced magazine articles - do I need to do this? Should this be just link to my website(where I can upload these articles) or uploaded to the Wiki images sections? 2. The references may need to be in columns - or is this long list OK? If they need to be in columns can you let me know how to do this. 3. I have referenced all articles with external links but used incontext hyperlinks for site linking to other wiki pages - this seemed to be the protocol. 4. Please let me know if the formatting for references is correct.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thank you for your assistance. ciao

Concerns[edit]

Hi, Cathy, and welcome to Wikipedia. Per one of the replies to your question at Teahouse, you are the co-owner of Cambridge, is that correct? I am a bit concerned that you fully understand what you are doing in regard to this article. You have a copyright on the website that all of the photos came from; that is clearly shown on the home page there. I just want to make sure you realize that by using your photos here on Wikipedia you are basically forfeiting your copyright. You are releasing them now (actually you already have by uploading them) under a CC-BY-SA 3.0 license, which says that anyone can use them and the only thing needed is attribution. I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice, but you should be aware. Good luck and happy editing. Gtwfan52 (talk) 05:56, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Gtwfan52, Thanks for the concerns. I do understand. The materials uploaded to Wikipedia have now been made available for public use. CathyL007 (talk) 22:57, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Charles,

Can you take a look at the wiki at the moment. Please let meknow if it is OK to submit .

thanks a lot Cathy

Please Take a Look at the Wiki[edit]

Hi Charles,

Can you please take another look at my wiki. And let me know how I am going. I would love some feedback.

ciao

Hi Cathy

I noticed you on my watchlist but you are more likely to get my attention if you leave a note on my talkpage.

I removed a first person "we" from the page. A dead giveaway of conflict of interest that. Make sure there are not any more. I would like to see more independent sources rather than youtube links. Film industry specialist magazines perhaps?

Can you include more about early life and education so it is more of a biography rather than a cv?

If you would like the page to be reviewed by people who specialise in new article creation there is a link at the top of your sandbox saying "If you are writing an article and are ready to request its creation click here." This will move it to a queue of submitted articles. There is quite a backlog on this but you will get good advice.

Best wishes.--Charles (talk) 09:30, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello CathyL007. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Geoffrey Brown".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Geoffrey Brown}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 00:00, 13 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
