Help with minor translation[edit]

Hello, Caygill! I've found your user page at Category:Translators fi-en. I am translating the article Blackoustic for the Portuguese Wikipedia, and one of the tracks of the album is called "Karjalan Kunnailla". I was trying to translate it, but Google Translator didn't help me much, so I came here to ask you if you could explain the meaning of it to me, when you got some time. Thank you, Victão Lopes I hear you... 16:30, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, Karjalan refers to the region Karjala, and Kunnailla is plural for mountain, hill, hillock or mound the soil. So maybe "On the Hills of Karjala" could be a close enough translation. --Caygill (talk) 17:09, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thank you very much! Victão Lopes I hear you... 17:36, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Removing other people's comments from the discussion can only be counter-productive. You are probably right that this should be deleted, but if you want others to agree with you then you need to act in good faith rather than prevent other opinions from being seen.

As a much less important note, it is taken as given that the nominator in an AfD discussion wants the article to be deleted, so I will, in a moment when I restore the discussion to the state that it should be in, strike the word "delete" in your further comment. 86.17.222.157 (talk) 22:51, 25 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm impressed with your helpfulness. You're very knowledgeable for being an unregistered user. And, you're totally right. My bad, I was wrong. There seem to be totally different rules and processes between en- and fi-WP in this particular matter. In fi it's a vote, where you need to have 100 edits as a registered user to participate. --Caygill (talk)

Sipilä Cabinet[edit]

Hello, Caygill, you have made repeated removals from the article Sipilä Cabinet. Here is the last one [1]. It would be more cooperative to make improvements. By repeated removals you may drive away other Wikipedia users. This would be hazardous for the Wikipedia project. There are references so the reader may check the news. Your total removals is not the best cooperation in my opinion. Help is welcomed but please not remove everything. Watti Renew (talk) 17:36, 16 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't start any editing wars on my talk page, after I have notified you first about issues regarding the very same article and your behavior on your talk page. Thank you. --Caygill (talk) 14:04, 19 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
