Dr. I'm trying to insert brackets into my entry for Wiki and it won't take my brackets to create a hyperlink. Will you go over how to insert brackets. I just want to make sure I'm doing it the right way. — Preceding unsigned comment added by User:Cdschmidt5 (talkcontribs)

Mayan world[edit]

Thanks for adding that section to the pseudoarchaeology article. I have done some trimming, which may seem drastic... Wikipedia style avoids editorializing "in Wikipedia's voice," such as value judgements and predictions of "a bright future." We simply report, based on available reliable sources. I have that article and its talk page on my watchlist, and will happily respond at talk:Pseudoarchaeology to any issues you'd like to bring up there.

Looks as if you've gotten some helpful feedback here. Thanks for your work on this article! Hoopes (talk) 19:01, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've also done a bit of tightening of that section, which is a valuable addition but a bit disproportionate in the article. There are so many different areas of pseudoarchaeology that it seems this article may expand dramatically if similar sections are added on Egypt, Stonehenge, Rapa Nui, Vikings, etc. We shall see. Estólicas in Spear-thrower Article[edit]

Thanks for your contributions! I've made some edits to your additions to the spear-thrower article. They were a bit wordy, with unnecessary and redundant text. (Please try to be as succinct as possible in contributions to Wikipedia.) They were missing hyperlink text to other relevant articles on Andean cultures, sites, and features. The citations were incomplete, inaccurate (an article listed as a book), and indadequate. Keep in mind that the purpose of Wikipedia is to make correct information readily accessible. It is essential that citations provide enough information for a reader to locate the source. Note also that foreign words such as estólica should be set in italics Hoopes (talk) 16:32, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
