License tagging for Image:ConstitutionalCourtTurkeySeal.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:ConstitutionalCourtTurkeySeal.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 08:04, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Rotary edit war still beginning[edit]

Hello CeeGee, I noticed that as a Rotarian you began a new edit war on Rotary. As I dislike the act of waring when having (social or community) interests into a conflict, I want ask you now to remove biased facts by Rotary on the Rotary wiki. This war is combined with AndyJones, as it was done by you both or three on the last time it happened.

All should be sourced per our verification policy. Per WP:RS#Company_and_organization_websites, information sourced from an organisation such as Rotary can be used as long as you do not copy biased material.

As Rotary is competing with other organisation on the charity market, these information cannot be verified. More of all, copy is forbidden -as long as I may know -

Thanks for uploading Image:MaltepeULogo.jpeg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Orphaned fair use image (Image:MaltepeULogo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:MaltepeULogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Medal template[edit]

Ciao! I reverted your edit at template:MedalTop, as, if your idea is good by principle, there's too many entries using it as OLYMPIC infobox, so we can't revert all them now. Use template:MedalTableTop when you need to refer to other competitions. What you could instead do, but if you HAVE TIME, is to revert ALL articles using MedalTop when there's other competitions, in the way showed at template:MedalTableTop... Can you? Good work. --Attilios 14:38, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well! But you must remember to add also the specification that the first medals refer to Olympic Games (ie., using template:MedalOlympics or whatever). Bye --Attilios 14:54, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Weightlifting-bio-stub[edit]

Hi - I see you have recently created a new stub type. As it states at Wikipedia:Stub, at the top of most stub categories, and in many other places on Wikipedia (including the top of the category you created!), new stub types should be proposed prior to creation at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, in order to check whether the new stub type is already covered by existing stub types, whether it is named according to stub naming guidelines, whether it reaches the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type, and whether it crosses existing stub type hierarchies. It is far from clear that your new stub type woyuld have the 60 stubs usually required for a separate stub type, and the category name is not standard for sportspeople - as the stub template says, it is for weightlifters or coaches and as such the category should be named Category:Weightlifting biography stubs or similar. Your new stub type is currently listed at WP:WSS/D - please feel free to make any comments there as to any reason why this stub type should not be proposed for deletion at WP:SFD. And please, in future, propose new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 00:07, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Silly question, but given that you were told a couple of days ago how to go about proposing stub types before creation, why did you just create another one? Weightlifting-stub is also now on the discovery page. And please don't change names for stub categories or templates until the debating process is finished! It simply makes more work for other people to clear up! Template and category name changed are carried out at WP:SFD. Grutness...wha? 05:21, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Re: Re "See here". Well, as for 'fixing the mistakes", you didn't, though I can see what you were trying to do. Now, rather than debating a template and a category, we need to debate a template and two categories then (at the very least) delete one of them. The whole purpose of the discovery page is for people heavily involved in stub sorting to check out unproposed stub types to see whether they're worth keeping or not, or whether they need fixing in any way. I just reported what I found and what I thought - the process takes at least a few days before there's a decision on what to do. If there seems to be enough support for renaming or deleting the stub type there, it's proposed for renaming or deletion at WP:SFD, which is where any and all Wikipedia's editors can have their say on the matter. The debating process takes more than a few hours, so it's a bit much to expect an admin to fix the problems immediately. The comments on Monni's talk page also don't explain why you made another new stub type - as he says "Every user has been newbie here once and we really shouldn't trash ideas just because a newbie proposed them... We all make mistakes, but we also learn from them." learning from mistakes means not making the same mistake twice! Grutness...wha? 22:51, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Aviation proposal[edit]

There is currently a proposal to create an Aviation WikiProject, which would serve to clarify how all the aviation related projects relate, and help with interproject editing. See Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Aircraft#Proposal_Recap for how the projects hierarchy. Part of the reorganization proposes that, because of its very limited scope, WikiProject Red Bull Air Race World Series become a task force of Wikipedia:WikiProject_Aviation. For an idea of how task forces work, take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Military_history. They have a number of task forces, listed here. As described by them, "task forces are informal groups of editors gathered for collaborative work on a particular topic within the field of military history; all project members are encouraged to participate in any that interest them." The benefit of such a system it that the sub-topics have all the resources of the overall project at their disposal. For instance, the Military history project banner, is placed on every military history page, and the related task forces are listed at the bottom of it. All military history related articles are thereby joined under one roof. I just happened to stumble upon your project, and had until now never realized it existed. By joining forces with another project you will benefit from increased exposure. If you have any ideas or comments, please join the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aircraft. - Trevor MacInnis (Contribs) 02:27, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Matild Manukyan, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. 62.25.109.196 11:32, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Terrorist incidents in the 1970s and 1980s[edit]

Ok, I see your point. But why are all those articles in that category if they're not about specific incidents? Khoikhoi 09:51, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you'll notice that the ASALA article for example already had Category:Designated terrorist organizations, so I felt the other two categories were redundant. Perhaps I should replace this category with Category:Former designated terrorist organizations for these other pages? I honestly don't feel like going through every single one. :-( Khoikhoi 10:01, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't really understand. I removed the category from that article because it is about an organization, not an incident. The other pages don't really concern me, and while I agree that they should be removed, I don't think it's that big of a deal anyways. Please give me a good argument for re-adding the category, besides the fact that other pages use when they shouldn't. Khoikhoi 10:09, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, but I don't think you get my point. Was the JCAG an organization or an incident? Khoikhoi 10:22, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just gave it a thorough copy-editing and I get that it is currently 1,389 characters, which is just under the 1,500 character threshold for DYK. If you can, you should add a few more sentences; it may be okay anyway, though, because the lists (not counted in the character count) are so extensive. Perhaps you could add a bit about when/where their earliest roles were. More independent sources would be good, too, especially in print, but I don't know if they are available. PKK/Turkey[edit]

I tried Casualties of the Turkey-PKK conflict (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) for name of the article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casualties_of_the_Turkish-Kurdish_conflict. Now, OttomanRefence is trying.

Khoikhoi did not accept it. Khoi said that Uğur Kaymaz was a civilian Kurdish, he was killed, so it is not only PKK-Turkey conflict. But, current name Turkish-Kurdish conflict is wrong because that there is no ethnic conflict. There is a problem related to ethnic Kurdish problem but it is not directly an ethnic war. I asked the naming dispute to R.Cakır, and he said that "I think that "Turkish-Kurdish conflict" is not a good idea because it refers to some kind of civil war that does not exist yet. I would prefer 'Kurdish question (or problem, or maybe conflict) in Turkey' or Turkey's Kurdish question'. But, Khoi did not like the name because according to him not only Kurds are responsible for the conflict. He said that he would think about the name, but no suggestions came form him! I searched on the Internet, and found an article by Koç University academician Somer: "People seem to instinctively understand and fear that this time such a path may lead to a Turkish-Kurdish conflict, i.e. not only a conflict between the state and Kurdish separatists as the conflict previously was, but which involves ordinary people". from http://www.turkishpolicy.com/default.asp?show=fall_2006_somer That would be another nominee for the name: "Turkish state- Kurdish separatists conflict". Is "Turkish state - Kurdish separatists conflict" good?
If there is a voting, we should make a consensus. Any name other than current name is more suitable. But, at the last vote, people who are against the current name gave votes to different names so article's name did not change, since there were no consensus. We should refrain from this in a survey.Paparokan 11:48, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

While looking at the people who vandalised the Taner Akçam article, I noticed the article on Uğur Uluocak, and that you described Uluocak as a communist. Fair use rationale for Image:EfesPilsenSKLogo.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:EfesPilsenSKLogo.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Unspecified source for Image:EfesPilsenSKLogo.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:EfesPilsenSKLogo.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Orphaned non-free image (Image:DSP Logo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:DSP Logo.jpg. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 13:57, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:PO Logo.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:PO Logo.png. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Johannes Avetaranian[edit]

The thing is that unlike in Islam, you can't be born a Christian. Every person has to make a choice--and thus all Christians are "converts". This is my POV, as a Christian. From what I have heard it is a common POV among Muslims as well. My Muslim friends have told me that they believe everyone is Muslim when they are first born.--Jdavid2008 15:33, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sezer[edit]

A person doesn't have to hold an active post to be called politically active. For example Süleyman Demirel has been out of the business since 2000 according to your logic but he caused some big political debates and took active role in them in the last seven years (the most popular one was about the "headscarfs go to Saudi Arabia" thing). Also, it is a fact that former high ranked state officers hold their prestige after they leave their posts (they are guarded by the state etc.) and instead of removing the presidential flag from Sezer's article, we can put it into other presidents' articles too. Take care bro, Deliogul 18:46, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that you were the one who created the article for Cemal Erçman. Do you happen to know if he's still alive or not? Cheers, CP 21:08, 22 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, your new details show that he is deceased. The Olympic Committee recognized at the beginning of the year that oldest living Olympic athlete was born in 1903, not to mention that if he was 110+, his case probably would have been picked up by the GRG by now. Thanks so much for your help! Cheers, CP 15:27, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

hello there, I am a contributor to this article here Topkapı Palace ever since I visited that place I fell in love with that place and would like to expand more. However I am no expert, plus on top of that some of the rooms are missing their Turkish translations or some of them might be incorrect, do you think you could be so kind to take a look at it when you have time? I also created the template at the end of the article, Template:Imperial palaces in Turkey, where I am sure it is still missing gazillions of other palaces and kiosks. Could you also tell me what the difference is between a Köşkü and a pavillon, what is a Kameriyesi exactly, and what is the difference between a Kasrı and a Sarayı exactly? You can also email me the correspondence if you wish, just click on "E-mail this User" on the left side on my talk page. thank you for your help, sincerely Gryffindor 00:56, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:DenizbankLogo.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:DenizbankLogo.jpg is a duplicate of an already existing article, category or image.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:DenizbankLogo.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. MIMIC development[edit]

Cee, ...Yes, I did miss your question in Talk:AFMC. The Talk was not in my Watch list. Even tho the paragraph was related, a citation was not provided, which you have given below. I expanded your ref below, and added reflist to the AFMC article. Please add your paragraph back with the ref appended to the end of the paragraph; making the addition complete. Your question on the relationship of the group to the AFMC is valid, but could be easily be implied.... until further investigation. IF "MIMIC is the successor to MIDAS" and IF MIDAS is related to AIMCO compiler, THEN the relationship is more "tight". Worth a bit more research. Thank you for your question... adds more depth to our Wiki-editing. Best reqards, Lance..... LanceBarber (talk) 06:19, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
