Melody Anderson[edit]

Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for working to improve the site with your edits to Melody Anderson, as we really appreciate your participation. However, the portion of your additions that pertain to Anderson's social work had to be reverted, because Wikipedia cannot accept unsourced material or original research. While narrative or media works such as TV episodes or films can be primary sources for their own content, such as plot and cast information, this does not apply to other types of material, which require reliable, generally secondary sources, explicitly cited in the text in the form of inline citations, which you can learn to make here. If you have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. :-) Nightscream (talk) 01:30, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings[edit]

Hi, I saw your post at the Help Desk. Let me ask a few simple questions. Are you Melody Anderson? If so would you be willing to prove your identity or assist in correcting the article? If there are errors in the article, I would like to help remove them. Such errors do exist and could be from vandalism or misinformation which was added in good faith. Getting biography articles 'RIGHT' is important, if we have false information, biographies are now held to very strict standards. Unfortunately, many are not peer reviewed because of the sizable number of articles, over 4 million articles now, but if something is wrong, I'd like to correct it. Please reply here or on my talk page by clicking the 'talk' icon to the right of my name. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 04:00, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Help Desk[edit]

Hi! I saw your post on the help desk and thought maybe I could help. It seems that it was a simple mistake - there is another person by the name of Melody Anderson who works in trauma counselling in New York. Someone seems to have seen the two identical names and similar careers and merged the content. I've removed the entire section so that I can write a more accurate picture. - Bilby (talk) 04:03, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've been able to return most of the changes you made, and did what I could to remove the confusion and explain it elsewhere so that other people don't make the same mistake that was made on the biography. It seems that Dr Melody M. Anderson was a well known psychotherapist, so it seems that someone made the error of thinking that she was the same person as you. Thankyou for raising this, and I'm sorry that this experience of Wikipedia was unpleasant. I'll try and develop the article a bit more as I can, but if you need any assistance just let us know. - Bilby (talk) 04:50, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
