User:ChalkboardstyleSTREET SPIRIT – STREET SPIRIT is a registered trademark name of a musician. This musician has notable press to make this page legit, along with web documentation from the United States Patent Trademark Office.

This is a link to the www.USPTO.gov trademark registration = http://tarr.uspto.gov/tarr?regser=registration&entry=3386585&action=Request+Status Chalkboardstyle 00:22, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

If you wish to turn this artist into an article all you must do is demonstrate notability. Which is defined for a music artist under this policy WP: MUSICBIO, I Just looked at your references. The Patent office doesn't prove notability. The nomination from the Independent Music awards website is a dead link, both of them, and according to policy we accept the following 4 major awards as notability "Grammy, Juno, Mercury, Choice or Grammis",. The Billboardsongcontest.com link is also dead, and isn't a major award according to policy, so it doesn't support notability. The link to a self published ""Official Street Spirit Website" as a reference isn't valid per WP: RS specifically under the section Here. And the final reference given is "UrbanSteez Online Magazine And Community" which appears to be a blog/message board? That won't hold up well to policy either. The reference issues aside you must prove at least one of the criteria from the above linked Musicbio policy. If you can find some sources to back up the required criteria, then go for it. Requested move

[edit]

User:ChalkboardstyleStreet Spirit

Street Spirit can be considered a notable artist, deserving of an article based on notability criteria as follows

1. Street Spirit's name appears in 2009 last print edition of the Musicians Atlas book, per being a nominee in the 8th annual independent music awards holy hip hop song category.

A. Street Spirit is a artist who has placed in a major music competition (8th Annual Independent Music Awards).

2. Street Spirit has placed 2nd in the Billboard magazine song writing competition. Billboard magazine is a notable publication.

Billboard Magazine Wikipedia Link - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billboard_%28magazine%29 Link - Street Spirit places 2nd in Billboard magazine songwriting contest http://www.billboardsongcontest.com/contest/main.html

3. Street Spirit can also be considered a notable artist per wikipedia based on receiving music reviews in Skope Magazine a national print and online music publication.

I ask that based on notability as described in Criteria for musicians and ensembles with documented proof, an article for rapper Street Spirit be allowed to be made.

I ask that you move user name Chalkboardstyle to Street Spirit (rapper).

Thank you

  • Point 1: Musicians Atlas from what I can tell of their website is some kind of social networking for independent artists? You would need to prove that this is non-trival follows the exceptions to point 1 of WP: BAND and you'd need to of course link this as a source to the article.
  • Point 2: Billboard Magazine link shows an online listing. The Criteria is for "online versions of print media" was this in the magazine itself? if so please provide a source to be reviewed.
  • Point 3: same thing as Point 2, This appears to be a review blog online. Please show the article's page and and Month/year of publication. This still seems fairly trivial though a couple paragraphs by a reviewer posted online. You must provide multiple of these per policy to demonstrate notability.

Please note that I am not doing a Support or an oppose I am simply pointing out things which must be done to establish notability. Smitty1337 (talk) 20:05, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Moving pages from userspace to articlespace is beyond the scope of the Requested moves process. Your move request has been cancelled. Please submit your request to Articles for Creation. You can do so by adding {{subst:AFC submission/submit}} to the top of the article. Happy editing. Cliff (talk) 15:29, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The current user page may be violating this policy. Please put a userspace draft tag on it. But it may be still violating the policy since the history shows it has been this way for a while, and it is currently linked to a bunch of categories. Smitty1337 (talk) 20:24, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have turned the categories into links to the corresponding category pages, thereby removing the user page from the articlespace categories. When the draft is moved into mainspace, the category links can easily be turned into regular categories again. Huon (talk) 16:13, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Street Spirit (Christian Rapper) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Rorshacma (talk) 23:13, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
