License tagging for Image:Boderek.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Boderek.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 05:08, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for creating this article. Using the move page function, I've moved it to Brian Smith (journalist) (note the lowercase "j") in order to keep the article in style with Wikipedia:Naming conventions (people). Keep up the great work. - auburnpilot talk 19:18, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:Bill Evans abc.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bill Evans abc.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Duplicate images uploaded

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Jodi A.-Ron C.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you uploaded the same image twice: as Image:Jodi A.-Ron C.jpg and also as Image:Ron C.jpg. The latter copy of the file has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and remember exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 14:18, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Jodi_A.-Ron_C.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Jodi_A.-Ron_C.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 14:37, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

April 2007

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent contribution removed maintenance notices from Jeff Smith (Meteorologist for WABC), even though required changes haven't been made. If you are uncertain whether the page requires further work, or if you disagree with the notice, please discuss these issues on the page's talk page before removing the notice from the page. These notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of a page. Thank you. NickContact/Contribs 17:08, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did when creating Jeff Smith (Meteorologist for WABC). For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as sources of information, but not as sources of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
Please also refrain from inserting fictitious (and potentially defamatory) information. Thank you. —David Levy 19:54, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]

For once again using a sock puppet account to upload unlicensed images, post copyrighted text taken from websites without permission, and deliberately insert fabricated information into articles, your original account has been blocked for one month. This sock puppet account has been blocked indefinitely. —David Levy 04:22, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
