I have been working on the page "merino". Something or someone called error has updated the Etymology and added >references< to the reference list, this now generates a cite error 5. I don't know what to do to fix it.

Guard llama[edit]

Guard llamas are used quite a bit in the US. It's unfortunate that they're not used more in Austrailia and the UK. However, merino is raised in Texas and guard llamas are used there as well. Thanks for your comment. Rboesen 17:14, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We actually promote llamas as a peaceable alternative to minor predator issues. If you have the lone coyote or dog, a guard llama does a good job of scaring them away. However, it is all show. Llamas are not aggressive by nature. They are inexpensive to keep as they basically can eat and stay on the same vet schedule as sheep. Let's face it, if you have wolves or other pack animals menacing your sheep, the best thing to do is to permamently remove the problem.Rboesen 14:42, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The question is; should you be promoting them using a link in the merino article.

Feel free to discuss the link there where the discussion has started and don't add the same discussion over and over just to spammor thwe same link. License tagging for Image:General floating point frac.PNG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:General floating point frac.PNG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Unspecified source for Image:BID_general_format.PNG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:BID_general_format.PNG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

The image happpens to be wrong and I have to put effort into fixing it up (which I will do, because when I start something I finish it). As for the stuff above, no, there are limits, I am not going back because of changed policy. If you have people that want to delete the work of others, then my view is go for it, I am not putting effort into stopping it.

SVG tagging[edit]

Hello,

I have gone and tagged all your PNGs which were of a diagramattic nature with {{svg}}. This categorises them such that future editors can redraw them in svg. The idea of SVG is to allow for reproduction of diagrams at any size level without loss of quality. If you are making future diagrams you can make very nice images easily using vector programs such as Inkscape (free/open source) or Adobe Illustrator (proprietary). Me? I use inkscape and find its nice and easy to make purty pictures. If you don't feel like figuring out SVG, keep 'em PNGs coming. Thanks User A1 15:15, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Domestic Sheep[edit]

I assume you are referring to my reversion of recent edits by User:61.9.139.165 ? In that case, the link you commented out works fine, at least for me: [1]. If you really believe a link is dead, please mark it with {{dead link}} rather than commenting it out - see Wikipedia:Dead external links. If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license.
