Your recent edit to Journalism

[edit]

Hi! I noticed your recent edit to this article. Thank you for trying to improve the article by adding a citation. I reverted your edit because I found a few problems. Please don't be discouraged—the Wikipedia has a very steep learning curve. The best way to learn is to make edits. Anyone here to build an encyclopedia can't do much harm, and any problematic edits will soon be fixed.

Below are a few points about the citation that caused me to revert.

  • The source you cited is of much more recent date than the appearance of the sentence in Wikipedia; it was copied from Wikipedia, not the other way around. Thus it can't be used as a reference—see WP:CIRCULAR.
  • Blogs, with very few exceptions, are not considered reliable sources—see WP:RS.
  • The leading paragraphs of a Wikipdia article are meant to be a summary of the whole article—the points made in the lede are in many cases cited as they are covered in the following text; citations are neither forbidden nor required in the lead—see WP:CITELEAD and MOS:LEAD.

If you have any questions, you can just post a reply below my post; I will try to help or to steer you to someone who can do a better job than I. (If you place a colon : as the first character in your reply, your entire reply wil be indented, making it easier to keep track during a conversation.) — Neonorange (talk) 17:07, 24 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Charlesakrofi. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, DJ Premier (Ghana), for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

A tag has been placed on Rex Omar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

A7: Unremarkable person, musician or band. Failed AfC twice.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on FlowKing Stone requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
