If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The religion of Winters requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Speedy deletion nomination of Southwater village

[edit]

Hello CharlieWinters,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Southwater village for deletion, because it appears to duplicate an existing Wikipedia article, Southwater.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Mduvekot (talk) 20:18, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You contested this deletion, and in fact the title was not deleted but is now a "redirect", meaning that anyone searching on "Southwater village" will now see the article about Southwater that was there already. Your article may have used different words from the existing one, but you see we don't allow what are called "content forks", where there are different articles dealing with the same topic. Your better course would have been to add to the existing article, except that phrases like "[The] country park is a real jewel" and "You can fish, sail, canoe..." belong in a tourist guide, not an encyclopedia. We ask for factual and verifiable information, expressed neutrally and if possible supported with references to published information. I see you're having trouble attempting to contribute new articles, and would recommend you re-read Your first article before proceeding further: Noyster (talk), 12:56, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
