Image copyright problem with Image:Malibu_2006_247_LSV.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Malibu_2006_247_LSV.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Image copyright problem with Image:2000 Malibu 23 LSV - Brad B and his boat loaded for wakesurfing.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:2000 Malibu 23 LSV - Brad B and his boat loaded for wakesurfing.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Flying Canuck 16:57, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wakesurfing[edit]

First, I didn't redirect your article, a administrator did. I added a tag to the page saying it should be deleted because I thought it was just another article about wakeboarding. The article would not have been redirected but we thought it was just a duplicate. Also, you do not have to have an entire article completed before entering it, you just need to make it clear, and make sure it asserts some sort of notability about the subject. Second, I am going to change the redirect and quickly clean up the page so it stays. The page will be here. You will need to continue to work on it though. Third, I noticed you image problems. When you upload an image, there is a drop down menu of different licenses. Wikipedia is very concerned about not using copyrighted images that the uploader has no right to release. If you took the picture yourself, you can release it under the WP:GFDL, which is a type of license. On that drop down menu there are other types of licenses that your picture may qualify for. Do not get discouraged, you will not be branded or distrusted for uploading an image wrong or creating an article. It happens all the time, and is just part of the process of learning about Wikipedia. Feel free to leave a message for me again if you have any questions, I will try to get back to you as soon as possible. You may also find WP:HELP informative. Replaceable fair use Image:Malibu_2006_247_LSV.jpg[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Malibu_2006_247_LSV.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Quadell (talk) (random) 13:51, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Malibu Boats, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Malibu Boats and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Undeath (talk) 06:25, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Wakesurfing[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Wakesurfing, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? KnightLago (talk) 23:36, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notification of automated file description generation[edit]

Your upload of File:Andy wakesurfing.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks!
