- (Discuss) — User:Chessiechaney → Chessiechaney The info on Chessie Chaney is correct as far as I know. Her TV and Film Credits are on IMDB and her videos are on Youtube. Her website will be published soon. Please let me know what I have to do to keep her Wikipedia File active. Thank you.

Articles need references to reliable sources. IMDB is not a good source. YouTube certainly isn't. You need to show coverage in newspapers or something. See WP:VRS. Chzz ► 03:00, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
- An article needs reliable sources, and an entertainer's biography must meet notability guidelines, per WP:ENTERTAINER and WP:MUSIC. I'm not convinced that this has been proven; of secondary concern are both the apparent conflict of interest implied by your user name, and the non-neutral tone of the article. JNW (talk) 03:14, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
- Also per WP:BLP there are numerous issues with the assertions and references provided. MySpace citations are generally problematic (because of the lack of editorial oversight), the YouTubeCelebrity News 'official website' is a listing of various youtube videos (and does not seem to be directly affiliated with YouTube), the Santa Clarita newspaper listing is an order form to buy a newspaper photo from an article, the City Scholars listing seems to be a pic & a name but does not add to the notability of the subject. Not every performer has or deserves a WIkipedia article... and neither does every scientist, architect, businessman, nurse or inventor. But Marie Curie has one. So does Frank Lloyd Wright, Martha Stewart, Clara Barton and Nikola Tesla. Because they all did something notable. If possible the editor needs to find multple independent sources that prove the notability of the article's subject. Shearonink (talk) 05:32, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your candor. Most of the info for the article was taken from Chessie Chaney's IMDB page and the username chessie was used to keep things simple and also because it's her info in the profile. I looked at some Wiki pages including Daphne Blunt when I wrote the article and I cited some similarities. It also seems that IMDB should be a reliable source. The page is still in the userspace so will it be redirected? Furthermore, Where do we go from here? Thank you. Chessiechaney (talk) Chessiechaney 03:54, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, it's an article and not just in userspace, take a look at: Chessie Chaney. Shearonink (talk) 05:36, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

I forgot to mention The signal Ref: 8 is a newspaper atricle. Thank you. Chessiechaney (talk) Chessiechaney 04:11, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

The username chessiechaney was used to keep things simple and also because it's her info in the profile. There are some Wiki pages similar to hers that were not deleted and based on IMDB credits. Here are a few files: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daphne_Blunt. Most of her credits are (uncredited). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imani_Hakim and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tequan_Richmond. It seems that IMDB is a reliable source for some but not others.Chessiechaney 20:10, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
