AfD discussion

In the AfD about Samoon Ahmad, the claim was made that the subject is a "distinguished fellow of the American Psychiatric Association." This apparently causes you to change your mind about the subject's notability. However, the source supposedly supporting that claim links to an irrelevant website (Amazon's). Just a heads up. -The Gnome (talk) 07:34, 16 April 2018 (UTC)

The Gnome - thanks for pointing this out, I think I must have jumped to the wrong source. I'll withdraw my withdrawal. Chetsford (talk) 18:20, 16 April 2018 (UTC)

Draft articles

Hello again, Chetsford. Your reviews have been really helpful. I was wondering if you have any interest in assisting with reviews of my drafts on other topics, especially companies or biographies. More specifically, I'm looking for someone to review this draft to replace the current Move (company) article, and this draft to replace the Iteris article. I can provide more detail if you're interested in either. If not, totally understood, but I wanted to check! Inkian Jason (talk) 21:00, 16 April 2018 (UTC)

That's no problem, your articles are very easy to review. I'm traveling at the moment so can't get to these until later in the week if you're not in a hurry? Chetsford (talk) 21:54, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
Thanks, and no rush! Inkian Jason (talk) 01:02, 17 April 2018 (UTC)
Inkian Jason - I just looked at Move. LMK if you have any questions. I'll get to Iteris soon. Chetsford (talk) 23:17, 22 April 2018 (UTC)
Thanks again for your help, and I look forward to your feedback re: Iteris whenever you are ready. Inkian Jason (talk) 17:34, 23 April 2018 (UTC)

A Barnstar for you!

The "Did You Know...?" Reviewer's Barnstar
Thank you for your work in evaluating articles that are submitted for review so they can be mentioned in the DYK section of Wikipedia’s Main Page. I have often wondered why reviewers often don't get accolades for their work since they often put in as much time as those who improve content. The effort needed to participate in this area of Wikipedia is significant. I don't think most other editors realize what a service you are doing to help showcase new, expanded or recently promoted GA articles. What you do provides an incentive for new and experienced editors to continue improvement and creation of content. I find my curiosity piqued by the DYKs. You do a great job and help me gain insight into the range of topics that Wikipedia covers. You’ve put in the time and effort to improve content and therefore deserve recognition and appreciation.

Request on 21:01:12, 24 April 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Booklover213

In response to your recent decline of Stephen Maitland-Lewis’ page, I provided published, reliable articles and sources from the NY Journal of Books, Kirkus Book Review, Historical Novel Society, Midwest Book Review (all four of which have their own Wikipedia pages), Broadway World, Connie Martinson’s nationally syndicated column & links to numerous newspaper articles in New York , California and Louisiana.

In addition, I provided many book reviews (as requested by a previous Wikipedia reviewer) and links to interviews with Mr. Maitland-Lewis from various print publications, which are clearly much more than mentions. I also include links to radio interviews with the NPR stations in New Orleans, LA and San Bernardino, CA.

In regards to your comment re: major awards, previous recipients of the Louie Award include Dick Cavett, Dr. John and Quincy Jones, in addition to Mr. Maitland-Lewis.

Your guidance and suggestions on what to add or delete in a re-submission would be most appreciated.

I am not seeing my most recent draft that I submitted on the draft page and just wanted to confirm it is what you are referring to.

Booklover213 (talk) Booklover213 (talk) 21:01, 24 April 2018 (UTC)

I removed a carbon copy of the draft (diff). Primefac (talk) 17:26, 25 April 2018 (UTC)
Hi Booklover213 - I can't go through each of your points one by one, however, here are a few notes: (a) "major award" usually means the Nobel Prize, the Pulitzer Prize, the Booker Award, etc. While the Louis Armstrong House Museum's Louie Award is probably a respectable award with many deserving recipients it is not a major award in the sense it was intended, (b) the "Broadway World" reference is a press release which - while as used would be fine to establish a point of fact - does not contribute to notability since anyone can issue a press release for anything, (c) the majority of other sources do not meet the criteria of WP:RS for a WP:BLP, for example highlighthollywood.com, the website of the Vieux Carré Property Owners Association, etc. You may want to check in at WP:TEAHOUSE for more holistic advice.
