Autopatrolled granted

Hi Chetsford, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Malinaccier (talk) 18:08, 2 August 2017 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer granted

Hello Chetsford. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.

  • URGENT: Please consider helping get the huge backlog down to a manageable number of pages as soon as possible.
  • Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
  • Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. Alex ShihTalk 04:04, 3 September 2017 (UTC)

I have unreviewed a page you curated

Thanks for reviewing Luis Perez (American football), Chetsford.

Unfortunately Wgolf has just gone over this page again and unreviewed it. Their note is:

duplicate article of another one

Sœureux-et-Cireux Station

Hi, this was a hoax - always worth googling things before you tag them as patrolled. Most of it was copied from other articles and there was one joke line - "This station is named for something unknown for English speakers.". I spotted it when I was trying to see if it needed a Wikidata link and found that the photo was actually of Stockholm. Blythwood (talk) 03:50, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

Thanks, Blythwood, I'm glad you caught it. Chetsford (talk) 03:51, 14 September 2017 (UTC)
No worries - just never tag anything as patrolled before googling it, ever. I've actually written a manual on this - some of the most determined hoaxers and shady marketers copy code or citations or even good article badges from other articles. The other reason I always do this is that I've often run into incompetent contributors who didn't notice a pre-existing article on the same topic with a slightly different name. I presume the name is a joke in French, but I don't know what. Blythwood (talk) 03:57, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

Stub sorting

Hello Chetsford,

I noticed you marked an article as a stub using the {{stub}} template. Did you know that there are thousands of stub types that you can use to clarify what type of stub the article is? Properly categorizing stubs is important to the Wikipedia community because it helps various WikiProjects to identify articles that need expansion.

If you have questions about stub sorting, don't hesitate to ask! There is a wealth of stub information on the stub sorting WikiProject, and hundreds of stub sorters. Thanks! I dream of horses  If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message  (talk to me) (My edits) @ 07:15, 15 September 2017 (UTC)

Thanks - I dream of horses. Could you be more specific about to which article it is you're referring? Chetsford (talk) 18:40, 15 September 2017 (UTC)
Museu Dauradó is the article I noticed, but by using CTRL+F on your user contributions, I also noticed you've done the same on Appayanaickenpatti, Khajani, Grand Duchess Maria Mikhailovna of Russia, Flipper (mobile application), and Barossa Rams RUFC. This was all done with the page curation bar.  I dream of horses  If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message  (talk to me) (My edits) @ 00:33, 16 September 2017 (UTC)
Great - thanks, I dream of horses! Chetsford (talk) 02:54, 16 September 2017 (UTC)
