Welcome![edit]

Hello, Chickenb4Egg, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 22:41, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Control copyright icon Hello Chickenb4Egg! Your additions to Draft:Scott Specht have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 19:52, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem icon Your edit to Draft:Jakeb Novak has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and persistent violators of our copyright policy will be blocked from editing. See Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources for more information. @ARandomName123 fyi, as you were issuing this warning the editor added the copyvio back. I have given them the benefit of the doubt this time.
@Chickenb4Egg Do not ever add copyright material to any part of Wikipedia. This includes copyright pictures, which are being handled on Wikimedia Commons 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 21:29, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for dealing with it, and letting me know. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 22:34, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ARandomName123 They refrained from doing so to the Novek draft. It was to the Scott Specht draft. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 22:44, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm aware. Thanks for tagging the images as well. I forgot to check them after my initial decline. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 22:47, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ARandomName123 Part of a paid editor's remuneration is to spend sufficient time learning and understanding the rules. A base level understanding of breach of copyright is a normal part of all editors' toolkits, but for a paid editor to breach copyright is somehow more egregious than for an amateur editor to do so.
@Chickenb4Egg please take note. Paid editors are accepted here, but are expected to get it right first time. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 22:53, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you @ARandomName123 and @Timtrent. I am working on it as this feedback was received at the end of a business day. At the start of a new one (today), I am thoroughly going through all the feedback, links, and talking with my client. Chickenb4Egg (talk) 13:30, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, Chickenb4Egg. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 20:01, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
