Tooltips
[edit]The tooltips on "Grand Slam" and "Masters 1000" are unnecessary since those phrases are already linked to articles that explain those terms (and graphical browsers show the article title being linked to in a tooltip anyway). And as for "Year-end" and "National rep.", I would prefer using "Year-end
championships" and "National
representation" instead (with no tooltips). ("Grand Slam
tournaments" could be done the same way.) - dcljr (talk) 20:15, 7 June 2017 (UTC)
- @Dcljr: Thanks for suggestions. The implementation uses cell widths to control line breaks, so there is no need to insert
everywhere. One wrinkle is that when these header cells occupy more than one line, each row becomes taller when the table is sorted. For instance, try sorting in Template:Tennis performance timeline/Serena Williams. I believe this behavior is tolerable as long as they occupy at most 2-3 lines, so I am going to leave that for now. You will also see that some tooltips remain in that example because the target articles are not specific enough; further suggestions welcome. Chinissai (talk) 05:13, 16 June 2017 (UTC)
