Float around until you find something that tickles your fancy. One easy way to do this is to hit the random page button in the navigation bar to the left. Additionally, the Community Portal offers a more structured way to become acquainted with the many great committees and groups that focus on specific tasks. My personal favorite stomping grounds are Wikipedia:Translation into English as well as the cleanup, welcoming, and counter-vandalism committees. I have decided not to upload any images because of copyright issues. I think it a shame that the Wookiepeedian wants to stop people seeing original production photos of film sets and props - such as sets from "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" and original images of the Emperor's chair for "Star Wars : Return of the Jedi". The reason I and others have removed your links are because they are from personal sites, and this is usually spam. In order to be in the external links of a page, a site has be somewhat notable and rather helpful. Allowing every personal site on the net on Wikipedia wouldn't work either. It's nothing personal, but Wikipedia is NOT a link repository. To be fair, I will not revert the articles in question until we discuss this. The Wookieepedian 03:00, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Response to above statement

I appreciate you trying to discuss it with me rather than just deleting links which I think are of genuine interest to people.

RE; what you say above; there was actually only one other user, "Someone42" who deleted the links, so to say "I and others" as though there were a whole group of you, is stretching the truth.

As on the "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace" page the user Marudubshinki thought that my link should stay, I quote "at least get rid of the grabage link" (that's their spelling mistake - I copied and pasted) - and with that they deleted the other Film Sculptor link. So I think some may disagree with you as to wether or not the link I added is valid. At least this user must have looked at both links and made a decision based on that.

I agree about personal websites - but this is a professional website, with professional information that can be validated. I really don't understand the problem quite honeslty.

I've taken another look at the material you've been trying to add to these articles, and it looks like there's been a misunderstanding about this; I do agree that this isn't simply linkspam, but we do try to keep external links to a minimum (though we are not always sucessful), preferring instead to add as much material as possible to the articles themselves. One way, though, to draw more attention to the article than just that of yourself and Wookieepedian is to open a "request for comment" on the article, asking other editors to go take a look at a discussion they may not otherwise have gone to look at; you can do this at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment
