Barack Obama citizenship conspiracy theories[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to the encyclopedia! In case you are not already aware, an article to which you have recently contributed, Barack Obama citizenship conspiracy theories, is on article probation. A detailed description of the terms of article probation may be found at Wikipedia:General sanctions/Obama article probation. Also note that the terms of some article probations extend to related articles and their associated talk pages.

The above is a templated message. Please accept it as a routine friendly notice, not as a claim that there is any problem with your edits. Thank you. PhGustaf (talk) 21:56, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Article probation" means you need to be very careful not to edit in a contentious (or even a contentious-looking) fashion. Please take a very good look at the talk page for this article, and review some key Wikipedia policies such as WP:V, WP:NPOV, WP:FRINGE, and WP:3RR. Since this article is on "probation", repeated reverts (even if not technically violating the three-revert rule) are likely to be less well tolerated here than elsewhere. That does not necessarily mean that the current text of the article must remain as is, but it does mean that constructive discussion of issues on the talk page (again, keeping in mind what people have said in the past, including in the talk page's archives) is far preferable to "edit wars" in the article itself. I would strongly recommend that this concern over the Hawaii birth certificate question should be taken to the article's talk page ASAP. If you have a valid point, this will hopefully come out in the course of a constructive talk page discussion. An "edit war", on the other hand, is most likely to result in your being banned from editing this article, and/or blocked from editing Wikipedia entirely, and any opportunities for improvement of the article which you might otherwise have been able to bring to the table would be lost. I am going to post a similar plea on Tarc's talk page. Richwales (talk) 23:39, 11 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
