Contested deletion[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because the intention of this article is to compile information on a notable public figure. Seeing as this is a Latin GRAMMY Award winning artist, an artist that has been repeatedly featured in GRAMMY winning or GRAMMY nominated projects, it can be easy to consider simply reporting his achievements promotional. This is one of the most respected and notable artists in the Tango world today. As far as anything that can be considered "promotional," nothing from the introduction, Early Life, or Career comes close. Draft work can be done to improve sourcing, but that doesn't warrant "speedy deletion" that's just the drafting process. It is not unambiguously promotional

Moving on to the next section, "Artistry" I believe that maybe the administrator out of ignorance of musical terminology thought I was comparing Pedro Giraudo to the Jazz legends Duke Ellington and Charles Mingus when this is unambiguously NOT the case. Pedro Giraudo's incorporation of established musical traditions in Jazz that are attributed to certain individuals is just that. The use of existing musical traditions. Therefore reporting that someone is inspired by and follows the tradition of particular artists, isn't claiming his artistry matches that of those he is influenced by. It's a report on the musical style and elements present in his music.

The "notable performances" section is present because touring is not a part of the tango music fabric. If this information can be better presented I am all ears, but nothing on here is new information, it has been compiled in other locations and is present in this article because touring information is a standard for Wikipedia articles on notable artists, but this artist has only had one-off performances.

"Awards and Nominations" is a section that I can see where promotional concerns may be present. Mainly because the Latin Jazz Corner awards are not as notable as his GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY nominations and wins. I included this because in other articles that I saw of other artists, lesser awards are still included in the Awards and Nominations section, but if it is inappropriate, a mark on the "talk" page is sufficient to simply delete these. I intentionally did not include a long list of other smaller niche awards for this very reason. However I do understand if even the Latin Jazz Corner award is not notable enough.

It's honestly ridiculous that this got speedy deleted instead of leaving comments on how to improve the draft. All of the information on this draft is true, and is written in a neutral manner. I was in the process of improving my sourcing to support the veracity of what is written, but that was already addressed in the original draft's rejection.

An article for such a subject should exist, and this subject already does exist in Wikipedia Deutsche. This is, again, a large figure in the world of Tango, and a figure that has won Latin GRAMMYs as a primary artist and GRAMMYs as a featured artist. This subject is in no need for promotion, but as he is in the public interest, he does deserve a central place where people can see the compiled information about him. If the draft needs improving simply say so and leave a comment. There is NO need for "speedy deletion"--Chrissy Ramos (talk) 01:39, 30 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
