Warning

Warning - By request of the Negroni family, I am asking you to refrain from removing content from the Pascal Olivier Count de Negroni article. There is claim that Pascal Olivier Count de Negroni or Count Camillo Negroni invented the Negroni cocktail. What is not known for certain is who invented and therefore both versions have been placed. Removal of content may be deemed as vandalism and you may be blocked from editing. Thank you, Tony the Marine (talk) 02:17, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

Re:Negroni

Hello Chromatikoma, thank you for your response and question which is a fair one.

Therefore, let's start with this. Yes, I have written articles about hundreds of people that I do not know, if I did that it would constitute a Conflict-of-Interest which is against policy. I wrote the article about Héctor Andrés Negroni, because he is a notable military historian who was commissioned by Spain's Fifth Centennial Commission to write the "Historia Militar de Puerto Rico", plus he was the first Puerto Rican to graduate from the United States Air Force Academy.

During the years I have received dozens of e-mails (since it is on my user page) from organizations, people or relatives of people of whom I have written, thanking me for my work in Wikipedia. Even the Pentagon and the Government of Puerto Rico have paid me tribute simply for my work here. It is a great experience and I'm sure that someday it will happen to you. Yes, I did receive an e-mail from the Negroni family requesting that I take a look at the article. When I did, I found that content from the original article was removed which I believe should not have been and therefore added said information back.

Now, in regard to Pascal Olivier Count de Negroni or Count Camillo Negroni. Who invented the famous drink? No one really knows since there isn't an official document to such a thing. We rely on what is posted on websites and there many that state that Pascal Olivier Count de Negroni was the inventor and that Count Camillo Negroni was the one. I personally don't care who in vented since I'm not a drinker myself, however since there are sources which name Pascal Olivier Count de Negroni, it only fair that both men be mentioned as the reputed inventor. By doing so and by providing the verifiable reliable sources (too many to post in the external link section), the article is within the neutral stance of the situation as it should be.

See, in Wikipedia we can't take sides as to who invented who invented something, wheather it this person or that person, unless there is an official document to such regard. I would act the same way if someone removed the name of Count Camillo Negroni. Removing content from an article because we feel that one person did this and the other did not, can be seen as vandalism, unless as I stated their is an official historical document or documents which state so and unless that happens we have to rely on the sources, some which mention Pascal Olivier Count de Negroni and others Count Camillo Negroni as the only two possible inventors.

Take care and have a great day. Tony the Marine (talk) 19:15, 16 December 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Architecture of aggresion

Hello Chromatikoma, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I declined the speedy deletion of Architecture of aggresion - a page you tagged - because: It is a valid redirect I think, as it is a song title on the album. Certainly sufficient to pass through CSD. Take to RfD if required. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. GedUK  13:28, 19 December 2009 (UTC)

I realized that it is a song, but it is also misspelled in an unlikely way that it will probably never be used. Seems like there should be a category to deal with redirects that people will add for every single song that exists... this one is worse in that it is misspelled and I marked it as such. Thanks - Chromatikoma (talk) 17:21, 19 December 2009 (UTC)

Negroni Protected

Hello Chromatikoma, I have the outmost respect of your well intended edits, however I have protected the Negroni page from further editing until a consensus can be reached as to the situation of the removal of content. I am also requesting the participation from uninvolved parties to hear their opinions. The discussion will be carried out here: Protected. As I said this not personal, it is an attempt to look for a solution. Tony the Marine (talk) 21:34, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

Your request

Look Chromatikoma, you know that I honestly do not have anything against you. The problem is that I believe that the unprotection of the article will escalate into an edit war, but tell you what, if another admin. does not determine the proper course to take in 24 hours, then I will take it upon myself to unprotect the article and stay out of the situation, even if there is an edit war. Does that sound reasonable? Tony the Marine (talk) 04:10, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

Happy New Year

Hello Chromatikoma, Happpy New Year to you and your family. You deserve the best. I will not oppose to the removal of the Negroni in the article. I would be opposed to the decimation (removal of content) of the article (In no way I'm saying that you have done such a thing, because you haven't) and of the removal of the term "Count", on the basis that even thouhg the title of Count does not appear on some websites and it does on others. I know that you are a very reasonable person from what I have noticed by your work and we should avoid the type of messes created by others (if you know what I mean). You are a good person and I wish you the best. Antonio "The Truth" Martin

Images for deletion

I appreciate your comments and taking the time to review the complaint I left. I will try and locate some of the ones I had found earlier but as I stated I simply don't have time to research every image. I only noticed today that User:Damiens.rf seems to have spent a disproportionate amount of time in the last month on articles relating to puerto rico and specifically on those that have been worked on by User:Marine 69-71. As I mentioned I also agree that some of the images are not in compliance and should be deleted by I just done haev time to scoure three dozen images and then try and find a valid ref. Especially since I don't usually work on images I would have to do some homework on what a proper citation and source is. Again, I don't have a dog in the fight so to speak because I can live without the images but it just seems like a loss for WP as a whole. --Kumioko (talk) 22:37, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Deletion of EasyC

Hi I noticed you nominated the article EasyC for deletion. I just wanted to let you know that I removed the deletion tag and would like a week to try and correct some of the article's problems. If by January 18th I have been unable to clean up the article you can nominate it for speedy deletion or relist the PROD tag. Thanks in advance andyzweb (talk) 15:39, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
