User name[edit]

Hi there, just a quick note to say that if you genuinely are a Burnley player, you should refrain from editing articles relating to the club or its players, based on WP:COI. If you are not really a Burnley player, please consider changing your user name per WP:MISLEADNAME -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 10:33, 1 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also if you are genuinely a Burnley player wanting to remain anonymous, you may want to remove the "My Career" section on your userpage, because otherwise people may be able to work out who you are. Joseph2302 (talk) 08:21, 2 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have to agree with the above, a simple Google search confirms who you might be (I'm not going to WP:OUT you in case I am wrong) but if you are who you claim to be, I would also strongly advise you to remove it and WP:RENAME your username as the club won't be happy if the media get hold of it. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 08:51, 2 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Don't try to fool me. A simple Wikipedia account will never attract media. But still I'll remove 'my career' section.A player of Burnley Football club (talk) 10:09, 2 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm trying to help you here for your own good. And as for that statement about the media, don't be so sure they won't be interested. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk)

July 2020[edit]

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia because your username, A player of Burnley Football club, does not meet our username policy. Your username is the principal reason for the block. You are welcome to continue editing after you have selected a new username that meets the username policy guidelines, which are summarized below.
Per the username policy, a username should represent an individual and should not: represent a group or organization; be promotional; be misleading (such as indicating possession of special user rights or being a ”Bot" account (unless approved for such purposes)); be offensive or otherwise disruptive. However, a username that contains the name of a organization and also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or “FoobarFan87" is allowed, though, among others, the guidance on conflict of interest and the policy of paid-contribution disclosure are relevant.
You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you wish for your existing contributions to carry over under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:
  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" from their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a change of name request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use. Therefore, please check the list here to see if a name is taken prior to requesting a change of name.
Appeals: If, after reading the guide to appealing blocks you believe you were blocked in error, then you may appeal this block by adding {{unblock|Your reason here}} below this notice,. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 12:26, 2 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I have never tried to hurt anyone's sentiments through my edits. I spend my free time in Wikipedia. Even after lunch, rests, sleep etc.,there is plenty of time to create redirects which is quite easy. My name is also changed,so it is not affecting WP:COI. My edits are also never disruptive. You'll clearly see there is nothing wrong in my edits. Those 'funny redirects' are actually nicknames of those personalities. There are many, many redirects which are nicknames of the personalities. You may check google for verifacation. Also my boss Sean Dyche himself calls him 'The Boring One'. Check google for verifying. I am not any imposter. There is no guideline in Wikipedia that imposters are forbidden to edit even if he/she made good edits. But I have also never made any edit coincidencing with my name. You should see my edits, not who made them. So I think they are some of the good reasons I should be unblocked. Thank you.Clash Jester (talk) 02:38, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Community consensus was unambiguous. Your edits were inappropriate and disruptive. Either deliberate trolling or sheer incompetence. This unblock request suggests but does not confirm the latter. Regardless, the block is clearly necessary. Yamla (talk) 10:31, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
