Hi, and welcome (sort of) to Wikipedia - I notice you're not exactly new but no one ever gave you a real introduction. I removed the section on "criticisms" you reinstated to Academy Awards. I apologize if I'm telling you something you already know, but wikipedia tries to maintain strict standards on things like original research (WP:OR) and citing sources (WP:CITE). I believe that this section fails both of these areas, unless sources can be found for all of the claims. As I said in a previous edit, I am not opposed to the idea of the section, but at the moment it reads more like somebody's opinions. In general, I am wary of adding text first and then hoping someone will find a source - if necessary, I would advocate only adding one statement at a time as sources are found. If you want to hash out the section, we should do it on the discuss page of the article. Thanks!--Dmz5 16:03, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would caution you first to assume good faith and not accuse me of vandalising the page because I am removing text that blatantly violates wikipedia policy. That it is "common knowledge" is not good enough, and not every user has the sort of familiarity with the "movie business" that you cite. The onus is on the user who wishes to add unsourced material. Furthermore, rather than calling me lazy, perhaps consider that putting up content that smacks of personal opinion without references is also a quite lazy course of action. I would also like to know where all this previous controversy can be found on the discussion page - as far as I know this is the first mention of it. I'll put up a request for comment or some such thing on one of the boards frequented by "more experienced" editors and we can see where the discussion leads, but in the meantime please refrain from taking such apparent offense to my edits.--Dmz5 20:46, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I am not User:201.14.75.171, as you suggest--Dmz5 20:49, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
One other quick thing, purely out of curiosity, do you edit under a different name as well? You make several references to "what usually happens" on wikipedia, which seem to belie your edit history.--Dmz5 21:12, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
