Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Climate Emergency Australia", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because 1) indicates shared use; 2) name of a group (non-profit or otherwise) or organization, which is contrary to username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. Thanks for asking. I'm new to this process, so apologies if I've done something wrong. My username is just a representation of my major interest area, which is documenting the growth of the climate emergency movement in Australia and, to a lesser extent, around the world. I am an individual but for safety reasons do not want to have my personal name listed here Climate Emergency Australia (talk) 04:50, 6 January 2020 (UTC)Climate Emergency AustraliaClimate Emergency Australia (talk) 04:50, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hello there! I completely understand you not willing to use your real name on here (I don't use mine either! ). With that said, would you be willing to consider a different username/pseudonym? The current one isn't fully in line with the English Wikipedia's username policy as it could be construed as being operated by multiple people. If you have an idea for a new username, I can happily help rename your account for you as I have the user rights to do so. --TheSandDoctor Talk 04:34, 9 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. S Philbrick(Talk) 18:29, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
As previously noted, you are not required to use your real name. Many people use pseudonyms, but those pseudonyms should not suggest that one is officially part of an organization. The block I placed allowed you to create a new account. If you have trouble, let me know and I can help.--S Philbrick(Talk) 18:30, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
