While it is possible my reversion of your edits to Truthout was in error, it is standard protocol for you to open a discussion with me to discuss it rather than to simply revert my removal. I understand you are very new to Wikipedia, and probably all of the written and unwritten rules. Is your issue only with the Chomsky book description? If so, I'll rewrite that. I thought that publisher blurbs were fair game as book descriptions. Cm4756338 (talk) 19:50, 21 April 2022 (UTC)

Yes, that's the problem. Publisher blurbs are almost always subject to copyright, and in any event, the summary should be in you own words. S Philbrick(Talk) 20:38, 21 April 2022 (UTC)

Okay, thanks for pointing that out. I wasn't sure what to do as you undid all of my work, not just the Chomsky blurb. I'm going to do some more work with a better understanding of the guideline. I think it makes more sense for me to make and publish smaller changes so when there are issues big chunks aren't undone. Cm4756338 (talk) 20:42, 21 April 2022 (UTC)

I don't work for Truthout and I'm not affiliated with them in any way, aside from being a reader. I read an article (in Mother Jones) about how traffic to independent media websites is down because of Facebook and want to do my part to help them increase their exposure. I decided to do this by improving some indie media org Wikipedia pages, starting with Truthout. The podcast already existed in the "Notable reporting and projects" section above. I don't see giving podcasts its own section constitutes advertising. I was using The Intercept wiki as an example and they have a podcast section. Please consider reverting your change. I'm confused. Is your issue with the fact that I gave the podcasts their own heading or that I added the podcasts and only cited Truthout? Cm4756338 (talk) 21:10, 21 April 2022 (UTC)
