Problems with upload of File:Tfcov.gif[edit]
Thanks for uploading File:Tfcov.gif. This is the cover art of my book and is used on my website and on all Penn State Press links, and links to all retailers. It is legally usable on Wikipedia.

- Unfortunately I had to nominate the image for deletion. It's clearly not your "own work" as claimed when it was uploaded. If the copyright holder has released it under a free license, we'll need confirmation by email; see WP:Requesting copyright permission for details. Huon (talk) 19:23, 22 March 2019 (UTC)
I didn't see an alternative that said I owned the copyright to the photo that was taken by someone else; the only thing I saw was a choice between whether it was my own work or the work of somebody else--with a whole series of permissions that I would have had to get, which were unnecessary because I owned the rights to full use of the photo. I have already received a response from the photographer, Don Hamerman, and will see how to upload that email to Wiki so that you can see his response and my rights to the use of the photo. I have just looked at your copyright permissions; I will send that letter to the photographer, but you folks need to understand that he does not own the copyright to the photograph. I own it. I purchased it from him; so you are asking him to sign over permissions for an image that he does not have usage rights over, even though he was the photographer that took the photo. I will gladly send him the information requested, but I don't understand how it applies, since he does not own the rights to the use of the photo. That was granted to me for all uses public and private by Don Hamerman when I purchased several photos from him for a photo shoot to accompany an article in "The Chronicle of Higher Education" on my work. In fact, the photos that I own are not even the one that was published in the Chronicle; they were alternative shots. So I will send him the official email and hopefully his response will be sufficient, even though he doesn't own the photo usage rights---for which I paid back in 1999. It is my understanding that Don Hamerman sent an email to the appropriate email address (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org) and received an automated confirmation that his email had been received on March 23, 2019.
