Pictures[edit]

That's great that you want to share the pictures. There's two ways you can go about this. The first, but least preferred, is to click on the "upload file" text in the toolbox to your left. However, by uploading them here, they are limited in use to the English language wikipedia. The preferred way is to upload them to Commons, where they will be available to other language wikipedias. Use the link I just included to jump over there, register just like you did here (it's advisable to use the same username), and then click on "upload file". The instructions are pretty self-explanatory, the only thing I'd add is to make absolute sure you select a license from the pull down box...unlicensed pics will be removed. If you have any questions, drop a note on my talk page over there (same screen name).

After you've uploaded the files, in either place, then the way you put them into an article is to use the text string [[Image:filename.jpg|thumb|right|captiontext]]

Although this gets done occasionally, it's strongly advised by the Manual of Style not to put thumbnail sizing into the string, as this disables the user preferences feature that lets the users decide how big the thumbnails show up on their screen.

Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions! Akradecki 13:50, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I wanna give you a prize[edit]

Hi, I'm Javitomad, a Spanish user of English wikipedia.

I've seen you've created some articles about Spain.

Because of that, I want to give you a Barnstar, the Spanish Barnstar.

(copy and paste this in your user page.)

War Edition at Dili[edit]

Users J. Patrick Fischer (talk) Merbabu (talk) and Darwinius (talk) are removing systematically the symbols of the city alleging they are not used anymore. The problem is that they doesn´t quote any relevant source to remove the symbols and prove they are not used anymore, despite there´s a law supporting them. I gave the data, he is disputing it, just for personal taste. Domaleixo (talk) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.41.242.19 (talk) 14:22, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:50, 6 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
