Your question at the Help desk[edit]

Hello! Since Michael Schwab (designer) doesn't have a photo I'm assuming you mean a photo in a Google Knowledge Graph. Afaik, what you're seeing is Google's algorithms doing their best. WP has no direct control over that, but putting an image on Michael Schwab (designer) may cause the Google-mind to think again at some point, I've seen it happen in similar situations. There's also a feedback link in the Google Knowledge Graph you can try, I have no idea how well that works.

Now, WP, and the sister-site we keep most "free" pics on, Commons are both very careful about copyright, so if someone added a pic from [1] it would get deleted sooner or later. The simple solution is to "donate" a previously unpublished anywhere picture, like:

  • Selfie. Take one and upload it at [2]. You can then tell me it's done (on this page, I'm watching it, but not 24/7) and I'll add it to the article.
  • Not selfie. Have someone standing close to you take one, register their own WP-account and then upload it themselves the same way, and ditto.

It is possible to release previously published pictures under a Commons-acceptable license if you can arrange it, but more bureaucracy is involved. The Commons:Volunteer Response Team has guidance on that.

Hope this helps. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 19:18, 13 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
