Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Thank you. Please note that this block is not a reflection of your contributions but solely based on the fact that your username implies that this account is controlled by Colin Smythe Ltd. If you are indeed Colin Smythe himself (the person, not the corporation), feel free to request an unblock as described above. You might be required to prove your identity though. • SoWhy, the editor has communicated with ArbCom and we accept their account--they are that individual, thanks. Mr. Smythe, you are unblocked; I have not looked at any of your edits but I trust they are in agreement with our policies and guidelines, specifically WP:NPOV (that they be neutral, not promotional, etc.) and WP:COI, because you do have a conflict of interest. On that note, please see WP:COIDISCLOSEPAY: we need you to disclose, publicly, that you have that conflict of interest. If you have any questions, SoWhy or I, or anyone else will be glad to help. Happy editing, Drmies (talk) 18:35, 3 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Removed references in Terry Pratchett[edit]

Hi there. I noticed you have made some changes to Terry Pratchett, probably based on your own knowledge of the subject. Unfortunately, you have removed footnotes while doing so. While we know that you are in fact Pratchett's literary agent (see above), many readers do not. As an encyclopedia, we cannot allow original research, i.e. material that is not attributable to a reliable, published source, even if the editor adding the material has insider knowledge; readers should always be able to look up the information themselves and not have to rely on the word of other users. As such, please refrain from removing references with your edits. Regards SoWhy 13:16, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest March 2021[edit]

Regarding your edits of Terry Pratchett and Discworld, please familiarise yourself with "Conflict of Interest" (COI) at WP:COIEDIT:

Editors with a COI should follow Wikipedia policies and best practices scrupulously:
you should disclose your COI when involved with affected articles;
you are strongly discouraged from editing affected articles directly;

So far, it seems you have not disclosed your COI. See how to do that at WP:DISCLOSE. Thank you, WikiHannibal (talk) 08:33, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:45, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
