Fair use images

[edit]

Hey Collective008, I wanted to let you know that I've had to revert some of your recent image-related additions in order to comply with Wikipedia:Non-free content. In discographies, although it may look a lot nicer, the use of album covers is prohibited because they are an unnecessary use of non-free content. If they were free images, there would be no problem, but album covers are almost never free. We usually only use album cover images in articles about the albums themselves, with very few exceptions. And with regards to image sizing, album covers should generally be around 300×300 or smaller. I know you were trying to help by uploading better images, but in this case lower resolution is actually better. Thanks, and let me know if you have any questions. Take care. --Bongwarrior (talk) 23:46, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
