Article

[edit]

I have removed some sites from your article since they don't correspond with what is written. I did however, added a news site which actually is allowed under the Verifiability guidelines. I also moved the rest to the External links section, which is designed for further verification. Now, Wikipedia is not a site where you can reference a blog or Twitter, however, you can use it as an external link. All in all, a good article in deed, but if you can find any news source such as The New York Times or the like, this article would be a good to go! Also, you can answer me by typing : or * on your talkpage, pings are welcome too and can be done like that: @Username:.--Mishae (talk) 14:57, 25 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

i decided against using the article from the Independent as it doesnt really add any factual information and replaced it with an article from BBC news website. I have added a line to the early life section from the same article (about his job as a tour guide) - should I reference this twice? I also added an article from the guardian which references the 5 star review. If you think the article is ok, would you consider publishing it, as I believe I will have to wait a few days before I am allowed to.

Many thanks for taking the time to help me (hope I got this reply system ok).

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Nick Helm has been reverted.
Your edit here to Nick Helm was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://twitter.com/#!/thenickhelm/) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 18:34, 25 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Article Missing in Search

[edit]

I just created an articleJohn Kearns (Comedian) but it doesnt appear on a search. there are two articles with similar names John Kearns and John Kearns (politician) and these both show up. How can I get the article to show in a search. Thanks in advance.

Simply wait a little. The search database isn't updated immediately; it may take a few hours until a brand-new article is listed. Typing the full title into the search bar will of course bring up the article straight away. Huon (talk) 22:10, 25 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks
