A tag has been placed on Fight club dc, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Gun control

[edit]

I have no idea what you are talking about, David, can you show me an example?--Mike - Μολὼν λαβέ 06:31, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I thought you were accusing me of something. If you have problems with something related to the project take it up on the project talk page. Please don't use my personal talk page as a soapbox for your political posturing, unless it is with something I wrote.--Mike - Μολὼν λαβέ 07:16, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I did, but you might want to read what you wrote again, it's coming off poorly. I think you'll find most editors of the project are not even American and don't know or care to know about firearms laws, or policy, etc. The bulk of the ptoject works on the technical aspects of guns and ammo, not the gun control battle. Just because our banner is on those pages does not mean we wrote them. They had Michael Moore listed as part of the project till I cut him and a few of the others that really had no place on here. Don't know if you're new here or not but you may want to read up on wiki policies such as No Personal Attacks and Assume Good Faith, before people start taking what you wrote the wrong way. FYI, Myspace is not a reliable source.--Mike - Μολὼν λαβέ 07:49, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, it is not criticism, it was the group's original intent. Perhaps the message has evolved to not sound so totalitarian, but removing it would be like removing any mention of slavery from an article on US history. "It was a long time ago, it no longer has relevance, etc." I'll gladly talk with any arbitrator about this. I guess it comes down to, "do you want a sugar coated article that is not fair and makes this group look like humanitarians?", "Do you want an article that portrays them as evil incarnate bent on destroying America through disarmament?" or do you want an accurate article that has a neutral point of view, which evenly shows any good work they have done along with the criticism they have received? I want the last one. Which is why I removed the false "cop killer info" that had no place in the article as half of it was false. Yes, i am opposed to that group and their goals and don't understand how a rational person can believe their beliefs, but I don't want to see a hit piece on them, either or the nonsense that equates them with a hate group. That section could be changed to how there mission has evolved, maybe there are reliable sources saying when founded their goal was just to get a waiting period/background check passed and it evolved into them trying to legislate guns out of the system, then perhaps they had to take a step back when their donations dried up and they realized that is not what the public wants and they are back on the sensible track again. I don't know if that's the case, but if you want to make it a good article, that's the way you should be looking at it. If you're a progressive thinker you should see it that way. If you just want a puff piece for your own point of view where you cherry pick what goes in there, you won't be serving the project. Make sense?--Mike - Μολὼν λαβέ 20:01, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
"Quotes of past leaders" instead of the "stated mission" works for me. Have at it! Go ahead and work on fixing it up, I saw your quote on the talk page about "clips vs magazines" and you were dead-on...that and some semantics of the "semi-automatic vs automatic" language usually make me want to choke someone out when they try to say they're not the same. It just shows they know little of what they claim to be experts on, whereas history shows those terms are in fact, interchangeable. I guess I'm of the mindset that someone with your outlook would probably be better at working on an article like that at first, rather than someone like me. Whereas someone like me would be better off starting an NRA or Colt Firearms piece. Of course at some point you need the other side to obtain NPOV, but I wouldn't know where to start on an article like that. Let me know if you need any help with references or sourcing.--Mike - Μολὼν λαβέ 22:11, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Yahel Sherman

[edit]

The article Yahel Sherman has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability. All references are to subject's own pages (his own site or his facebook), or directory entries. My own search on ("DJ Yahel", his performing name) finds almost nothing; only seven Google News Hits ([1]), all of which are passing mentions. Google hits (apart from news, [2]) are all merely mentioning a scheduled performance, or are to the subject's own pages: home page, facebook, soundcloud, youtube, etc.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi Cooldavid, if you took this still from a video you made, did you know you could upload the whole video under the same license? Might be a better illustration for the article that way. czar 05:27, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
