Garden Island (South Australia)[edit]

Hey, nice job on the new article. I was surprised that there wasn't a page for the island when I made those edits on the locality earlier today. --Danimations (talk) 12:11, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Stuart Highway[edit]

Hi Cowdy001. I was wondering if you would be interested in helping me improve the article for Stuart Highway. It is the 5th most popular page for WP:AURD, but isn't in such great shape. You provided quite a good route description for Eyre Highway[1], and that article went on to become a GA – not sure if I thanked you at the time, but in any case, thanks . Any help with Stuart Highway would be appreciated if your up for it, but I'll also understand if its not something you want to work on at the moment. - Evad37 [talk] 05:53, 18 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Evad37, I am a bit busy at the moment and do not know if I can help. I suggest in the first instance that you start a conversation on the article's talk page about the proposed improvements in order to inform all interested persons. RegardsCowdy001 (talk) 20:15, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for April 5[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited District Council of Ridley, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hundred of Bagot. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Ellen shipwreck - Backstairs Passage article[edit]

Thanks for picking this up. I concur that Morgan's Beach is situated on the western coast of Fleurieu Peninsula and therefore it's correct that the wreck of the Ellen lies in Gulf St Vincent (as per the article). However, it might be worth considering whether this entry might be reinstated with a more precise description and context to explicitly draw the connection to the Backstairs Passage. The historical account records that Ellen was steaming back from Kangaroo Island to Glenelg across Backstairs Passage and the wreck was the result of losing control of the vessel in heavy seas (and a change in prevailing wind) while passing Cape Jarvis. Another way of describing this might be that the Ellen was wrecked in Gulf St Vincent at Morgan's Beach, near Cape Jervis, after failing to complete its crossing of the Backstairs Passage. I would be interested to know your thoughts on this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GG Sunnagunna HSL2 (talkcontribs) 13:15, 22 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hummock Harbour[edit]

There are quite a few Trove references to "Hummock Harbour" (and a few "Hummock Harbor"s) between 1850 and 1855. A very early one gives it as an alternative to "Port Pirie", yet most of the references are 1850–1854 when the name Port Pirie was well established, and many of the references were not just casual mentions. A. T. Saunders (who is not always correct) has "Port Germein" https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/63653225 and no-one commented; his assertions were often contradicted, a popular sport. So far no mention in WP. Any ideas? Doug butler (talk) 21:22, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There is a discussion concerning the above at Talk:Port Germein, South Australia#Rollbacks - Hummock Harbour and Melrose District Council. Regards Cowdy001 (talk) 00:49, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that. Maybe some more definite info one day. Doug butler (talk) 04:59, 12 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Lake Howden System[edit]

Hi Cowdy001: Way back in 2014, you added a clarify statement to this article [2]. Can you please identify what needed clarification? Is it the island that you're unclear about? Or something else? MeegsC (talk) 14:14, 14 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi MeegsC, I think I had issue with the place called 'Cowrtie Island' because no such place can be found in the official SA government placename list which can be searched using location SA map viewer and Location Property Viewer. Regards Cowdy001 (talk) 19:54, 14 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
