it really hurts

when I see the sheer inanity of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Unknown-importance_Australian_sports_articles and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Unknown-importance_Australian_television_articles - they are going to feel like a head-banging ecercise that should have been resolved by a bot for the minimum default 'importance=low' - as excruciating as the bends me thinks... Yes, I have noticed that only 25% of the articles for both TV and Sports have been assessed. I am not sure of what would be the best approach for these projects because the articles are about people, activities and things. However, I think the use of a bot would be appropriate for Category:Unknown-importance Australian Antarctic Territory articles because all of the unassessed articles are about geographical places that would rate as low importance from a WP Australia perspective. By the way, I have noticed that there is a lot of Sports articles listed in ‘Category:Unknown-importance Australia articles’. Cowdy001 (talk) 03:44, 17 January 2020 (UTC)

There are the xxxx editors who have at some stage ventured in up to 8 to 10 years ago and slapped 'australia' - with nothing showing they had any knowledge of sub-projects or any local knowledge at all, leaving a vast trail of inadequately understood tag messes.

One major issue I am sure there are no longer editors in the project (ie left, inactive or indifferent) who might have had tales from the past, or understood the issues of double bangers - it can exist in a range of subjects - a sub project exists in the oz project - law, politics, sport etc - and some not very smart (probably me - so I take the trout or whale or whatever for doing so) - have a talk page Australia/law=yes, then a additional and separate Law=y as well (huh?). It gets really unnerving in rugby and some sports and motorsports - as it is had to find an established precedent that clarifies whether - Aust/motrosports=y and motorsports=y are a viable usage or really an unnecessary duplication. This is something that could be helped with a binding convention of accepted precedent accepting practices on tagging, but whether anyone else would take any notice, probably not interested, sad but true. n the "Category:Unknown-importance Australia articles", at the moment, there are 13,869 articles which is a drop of 5,430 from 19,299 on 24 September 2019 four months ago, i.e. an average drop of 1358 articles per month. A 'back of envelope' calculation suggest a minimum of ten months before the category is empty, assuming there is no growth in the list of unassessed articles. Also, sub-categories may experience a drop in the number of articles. This morning, I discovered a sub-subcategory which contains about 400 articles, i.e. Category:Unknown-importance History of the Paralympic movement in Australia-related articles. We need to add Wikipedia:GLAM/History of the Paralympic movement in Australia to the list of projects etc and check if there is anything that is not currently listed. insufficient emojis available for a suitable response to that... three things, the are mega mainspace eds who are totally disinterested in following up on their creations to do the talk page fix (the 6 millionth edit looms) - there are many articles that have either not been tagged but are oz project associated - many talk page helpers have excruciatingly bad habits of not filling up to the importance=low default, then after the three there is the potential for a awb bot for the mind blowing sports that need only sports-importance=low.... apart from all that your last comment I cannot reply 'on wiki' - there is a seekers song that I always remember when I see them mentioned... Saw your comment on Scott's talk page - even if you don't have the time to fix the article up, any chance you could add a brief explanation of its notability? The article doesn't explain why its future cash flow will be one of the highest of a company based in South Australia at all, but if it did even in a really brief way I think it'd be able to be kept. Allendale East Town vs Locality

I was wondering, and if its okay to ask you, what the difference is between the town vs locality classification for Allendale East. I am aware that state suburbs in the ABS are based on the named area from the official Named Geography gazette but locality is based on the urban centre population.
