Standard Offer unban request

[edit]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Crasstun (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Hello I would really like to have a second chance in being an editor on Wikipedia. I haven't socked in (just) over 2 years and I feel really bad about my past behaviour. I have matured a lot since then and I can promise that these childish antics will not happen again. In this time I have made many constructive contributions to the Simple English Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons and I hold Rollback rights on both these projects. I'd like to request the standard offer unban discussion. Many thanks Druddigon

Accept reason:

Congratulations! Your request for a Standard Offer has been conditionally accepted by the community. However almost all of the editors who contributed to the discussion of your request expressed reservations and or skepticism. To which end I am interpreting the expressed will of the community as supporting the following conditions to the final lifting of your CBAN and the indefinite blocks that followed:

  1. The full and final lifting of sanctions is conditional on your good conduct and constructive editing for one full year from this date. During this period, in the event of your engaging in any deliberate disruptive editing, especially socking, your Standard Offer may be immediately and summarily revoked by any administrator without further recourse to AN/ANI. In plain language, any admin who is satisfied that you have seriously failed to abide by the standards expected of editors on this project can unilaterally re-block you and reinstate your CBAN. Any incidents occurring after one year will be addressed on a case by case basis as per normal procedure.
  2. This unblock notice is not to be altered or removed from your talk page for one year from this date. After the one year has passed you are free to remove it.
  • Finally Welcome back. It is my great hope that the unpleasantness of the past can now be left behind. However, please tread carefully. If you end up getting blocked again, the chances of your being given another chance are somewhere between slim and none. -Ad Orientem (talk) 00:45, 17 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Given your history, I am not willing to unilaterally unblock you. However if you have respected your block for two years, I do think that's long enough for me to pass this along to the community. I will post your request with a link to this talk page at WP:ANI and let the community decide. -Ad Orientem (talk) 21:14, 14 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Your request for a standard offer has been posted here. -Ad Orientem (talk) 21:38, 14 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think that anything 'caused' me to sock other than a childish obsession with vandalism and attention seeking. As for the second point I haven't done any of that in a long time and I've done lots of work on other WMF projects (I have over 11,800 edits on Simple) and I've never been blocked on another wiki so I hope that shows I am serious about being a useful contributer.--Crasstun (talk | contributions) 06:03, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Ad Orientem, and thanks to everyone else who took part in the unban discussion. I fully understand the scepticism and I appreciate the amount of rope and good faith that was given to me so I will be sure to follow those editing restrictions to the letter.--Crasstun (talk | contributions) 07:21, 17 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome back

[edit]

A number of editors are putting their faith in you and are counting on you to be a positive contributor. I sincerely hope that you shall be a good editor. Good luck and happy editing! :) --QEDK () 03:37, 17 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, it's good to be back! :) --Crasstun (talk | contributions) 07:21, 17 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello Crasstun. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that there is consensus that we shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1) and/or content (CSD A3) moments after they are created. It's usually best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course still be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. CactusWriter (talk) 17:32, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That's a policy I wasn't aware of. Thanks for the heads up!--Crasstun (talk | contributions) 17:41, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No problem at all. CactusWriter (talk) 01:09, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Untitled Section by Heyarnoldheyarnold5

[edit]

Please leave the age off of Chloe Lanier's page. It is innacurrate and irrelevant. A woman's age is private and shouldn't be known to the public. She also was not born in Dallas nor in 1992 as previously reported. Please remove this from the page permanently. Thank you! Heyarnoldheyarnold5 (talk) 18:53, 16 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi just made this a different section. It doesn't belong to the above. --Info-Screen::Talk 19:22, 16 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I looked it up and found a couple of websites that said that Chloe Lanier was born in Dallas in 1992. That's not right about Wikipedia not being allowed to publish women's ages either. The information about her age was removed by you and, for now, nobody has re-added it. I'd recommend you take this to Chloe Lanier's talk page. Thanks --Crasstun (talk | contributions) 22:27, 16 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2017 election voter message

[edit]

Hello, Crasstun. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
