Thanks for uploading Image:Gilles_Villeneuve.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. -- Carnildo 09:56, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I hope you intend to fill all these red links with blue, because otherwise the template will end up deleted. Circeus 21:13, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:50PREVISEDBRITANNIAOBV.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:50PREVISEDBRITANNIAOBV.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:24, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:TheCrew2001 photo.jpeg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:TheCrew2001 photo.jpeg is a duplicate of an already existing article, category or image.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:TheCrew2001 photo.jpeg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Demon Dagger

[edit]

The article Demon Dagger has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 13:29, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism WikiProject Progressive Rock Project page

[edit]

Hi Why do tick entries in the Wikiproject Progressive Rock without having done anything. This is no fun. Please stop doing this vandalism immediately. Thanks. --Cdl obelix (talk) 16:12, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Once again. Was probably a bit rude with my first comment.
I suppose to you misunderstood something, could that be ? We use the templates at the moment to have links to all albums, etc. of a particular pro group and tick them on their talk page with {{Progressive rock|class=|importance=}} and do then a rating (class & importance). Please visit also the discussion forum. Thanks --Cdl obelix (talk) 16:19, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Progressive Rock portal

[edit]

Hi, I am writing to Progressive Rock members & hope you like a few of the suggestions herein.

Since our group has grown, I had some ideas about things that would advance and promote our Prog Rock group. We can accomplish quite a bit since we have a lot of new people with new ideas. The best way to do this is to write or improve the articles relating to Prog Rock. I have recently done some work on 2 Rush related articles {"Presto (album)" & "Show Don't Tell"}. At the same time, we know that writing an article about a song &/or an album/CD takes a long time. You have to have your references that you need to read: a few Internet articles, a magazine or book or 2, 3 or 4 of them! Then sit down and write a very good, cogent article worthy of other prog rock articles in Wikipedia. If you have time to do that, great. However, if you are like me, you are very busy balancing the baics of work/job/career, family and everything else in our busy lives.

There is an activity that I think would also promote Prog Rock and it doesn't take quite as much time. We could, at this point, sit down and assess the articles already written about this type of Rock music. If we think that some of these deserve Good Article Nomination, we should give a nomination. Then, another person(s) in our group can do the following; try to improve the article to get it to Good Article status or if it's already Good, then award it that status.

Let me know what you think. If you like the idea, then let's exchange which articles we have done extensive work on. We can start with those. New ideas, new editing may really work to improve what we have worked on so far. The Good Article status would cut a higher profile for the articles we work on now and in the future. It will serve to give more notice to all those people out there that have read our articles now and in the future. More importantly, working together will build better cohesion in this group. I know that I have already worked with one of the members in this group, and we had a great time. Plus, they helped make the article that I spent a lot of time on much better!

Talk to ya' later, and hope to hear from ya soon. Vince

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
