Proposed deletion of Speaking Into The Air[edit]

The article Speaking Into The Air has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NBOOK.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Suggestions for the item"People Daily"[edit]

I think the information about People Daily is not objective, especially in the history part.

There are too many personal or so-called western opinions and evalations towards People Daily invloved in the part. As the part of "history",the author should describe more facts, I mean, like mentioning more important articles and reports in this newspaper rather than critize and review it.

For example, the editor wrote:

"the paper was in fact controlled by Mao's personal secretary Hu Qiaomu."
"Newspaper articles in the People's Daily are often not read for content so much as placement. A large number of articles devoted to a political figure or idea is often taken as a sign that the mentioned official or subject is rising. Likewise with articles on geographical areas foreign or domestic; recently increased interest in Latin America has been shown.

In China, like in the rest of the world, visibility and prominence in official media communicates power. Editorials in the People's Daily are regarded both by foreign observers and Chinese readers as authoritative statements of official government policy. Thus studied with care. Distinction is made between editorials, commentaries, and opinions. Although all must be government approved, they differ sharply on the amount of official authoritativeness they contain by design – from the top."

All these contents are reviews from western perspectives instead of objective discoures. And in this part, a large segment of the contents is talking about the reports in Cultural Revolution and Tiananmen Square Protests of 1989, but just a small part of that is describing the current situation. In fact, People Daily has been in the process of changing. It has become more close to civilian with a relatively relaxed style because of its multimedia means of issuing information. And what's more, the time line here is kind of not in order.

And I also compared this piece to the counterpart in Chinese Baidu Encyclopedia. I found this piece also leaves out some important information like the influence of People Daily: 1992, People Daily has been rated as the world's top 10 newspaper by UNESO.
