Your edits don’t merit inclusion at all on the California page, and and are perhaps barely relevant on Etymology of California, but with a reputable source, not the one you provided. Thank You for referring me to an alternative article, I have primary sources on formerly Muslim Filipinos in California so I'll use that in leiu of/asides from my article. Another Revert.

In your revert to my edit in California you specifically said that my editions don't belong there but belong to the Etymology section so I transferred my edit there.

Adding indigenous and Spanish names

Hello. You may have already answered this, but I am unable to get into your list of previous messages. Anyway, good day! I am wondering under what WP:Policy or WP:Guideline you are adding indigenous and/or Spanish place names to various geographic articles, such as Morro Bay, California. @BeenAroundAWhile: Hope you are well! Sorry about the previous message you left, my talk page archives entries faster than I would prefer. You are absolutely correct there should be sources on all additions of alternative local names in the lead (if I haven't added them everywhere yet, it is because it is an ongoing project of mine). Policies like WP:Multiple Local Names and WP:Alernative Names are the basis for my additions. That is why New Orleans has "Nouvelle Orleans" in its lead, why Szczecin has "Stettin" in its lead, why Mexico City has "Altepetl Mexico" in its lead, why Wellington has "Te Whanganui-a-Tara", why Baton Rouge has "Bâton-Rouge" in its lead, etc. Alternative names originating in either a) historically significant local communities or b) significant minority populations justify the inclusion of indigenous names and Spanish names in a great deal of articles of places in California. Is it your intention to add Spanish translations to all the English proper names in Wikipedia, whether or not they are officially so named, and, if so, what would your criteria be, and why Spanish and not other languages? For example, there are undoubtedly Chinese characters meaning "Dominguez Channel," so why not include them as well? I'm not being argumentative; I just want to know what the criteria are for using Spanish instead of some other language? @BeenAroundAWhile:, No, it is my intent to added Spanish names where there is a numerically significant Hispanic community in the region and significant amounts of original Spanish-language news reporting or sources that refer to the place. @BeenAroundAWhile: And to make a comparison between the relevance of Spanish in Los Angeles County (which if 50% Latino) to Chinese in regards to Dominguez Canal is ludicrous in my opinion. Especially in the face of numerous, major Spanish-langauge local sources. The LA Times doesn't have a Chinese edition but it does have a thriving Spanish one. Same thing for the San Diego Union-Tribune, or the San Francisco Chronicle, or SFGate, or the San Jose Mercury News, or the Sacramento Bee, which all have original Spanish-language editions and content. We seem to edit a lot of the same articles. I noticed this edit and wonder if you've been doing it regularly? Many of these tables were added by one editor, who was eventually blocked. Hey there @Magnolia677:, thank you for the message. I absolutely delete these templates wherever I encounter them. About 6-7 years ago an editor was vigorously adding these templates everywhere and many editors took a huge effort to refer the edits wholesale, but it seems that the templates have reappeared again across many articles and there isn't as much of a huge push to delete them this time around. However, I do what I can when I see them. I have never had pushback, but in fact support from established editors. This content does not belong here on Wiki, that much is for sure. @Magnolia677:, Seems like you had overwhelming consensus of support on that RfC. Rankings are also a plague on city articles. If either of us encounter backlash removing either type of content, I am pretty confident that the community will support the removal as a whole, even if there are occasionally detractors here and there. That is the primary reason I no longer edit on royalty related articles nowadays (for some reason that topic attracts lots of vicious personalities). That's because respell is the English pronunciation, so you're saying that Spanish is English.
