Just so you know[edit]

It's advised that when removing interwiki links from a page, you link to WP:WDATA in your edit summary, if your intent is to assist in the Wikidata transition. That way patrolling editors can distinguish your edits from vandalism (which until a few days ago is what it almost always meant if a user was removing all the links.) — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 07:13, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warring[edit]

Information icon Hello Csurla, and thank you for your contributions. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Ștefan Kovács. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Unofficial flag change to official[edit]

Hello. I was wondering why you were making these changes? We're supposed to use the flag that was in use at the time. So for a sports event in 1961, we'd use the flag that was in use in 1961, which according to the country data was the 1957 one. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 08:31, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Then you need to raise that at the country data talk page and get it changed. Changing individual articles isn't the way to go. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 08:35, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I didn't realise you already had gone to the talk page. So why was it never changed? cheers, Struway2 (talk) 08:38, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
What I mean is, when we look at the country data page and see a flag listed in the variants table as Flag of Hungary 1957-1989, we think that we are supposed to use that flag for events between 1957 and 1989. If that is not correct, then should the variants table be updated to show us which flag is the official one that we should use. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 08:49, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I've left a message at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Flag Template#Hungary country data 1957-1989. I don't know if it's the right place to ask, but hopefully someone will see it. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 09:12, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Don't know if you're watching that page... someone's changed the country data but they have a question about what to do with the 1957-1989 unofficial flag which you may be able to answer. See here. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 12:41, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
